I'm cheering for an England/Algeria draw this afternoon. Not likely to happen but you never know.

That would be the best possible outcome for us.

Slovenia 4 Pts
US 2 Pts
England 2 Pts
Algeria 1 Pt

In that scenario the US could even conceivably advance with a draw.

or even an Algerian win...
Slovenia 4 Pts
Algeria 3 Pts
US 2 Pts
England 1 Pt

Realistically we have to win the game against Algeria. No way around it. They need to pull out all stops.

AWFUL call on the goal. That was the winner, 100% no question about it. If anything, it was a foul on Slovenia against Michael Bradley. So steamed about that. Unbelievably bad.

Still got a lot of confidence. We're going to have a chip on our shoulders going into the Algeria game, but there is still a good chance we move on. England beats Slovenia next week and we beat Algeria and we're golden.

Gomez came on way too late, but I can't for the life of me figure out why the Torres for Fielhaber/Edu substitution at halftime. I do think a 4-3-3 might be a better way to go because if we have an overabundance of attackers, good things happen. Just make sure 2 of the 3 midfielders are holders.

Or Slovenia beats England same result...it all hinges on us winning.

Gomez?(#3) was holding his man but Altidore was being held and Bradley was clearly fouled. I can't believe they called that.

They just talked to coach Bradley and he said they don't even know yet why the goal was disallowed, they don't know what was called. If they called Gomez it's ridiculous given to what happened to Bradley.

Great comeback but it should have been a win.

#3 is Bocanegra but Dempsey & Bradley were held too. The team can't dwell on it, they have to move on.

Michael Bradley is maturing as a player but he needs to keep his head. We can't have him running his mouth to the officials after the game, he always has had a bit of a temper and he is too important for us to lose.

Well, we'd better come out strong for once and score first. I'm as pissed about the disallowed goal as anyone else, but we never should've been in that position.

I wanted to wait until I got home to watch the game, but a co-worker comes up to me and says 'US is getting their butt....' so I hurry and try to shhh him but it was too late. I started watching at the 75'. That was a great header by Jozy and another great kick by Bradley.

The 3rd goal or lack thereof was a travesty. I can't believe that was a call against us.

Of course not, but we were in that position, and to be thwarted by an illegitimate call is damaging not only to the US, but to the tournament and the game. Just ask the Republic of Ireland.

The coach has to take some responsibility for that. Why doesn't the team come out prepared? Is it tactics, are the players not prepared mentally, are the wrong players on the field, is it lack of focus? He better already be game planning right this very minute, forget dwelling on the bad call--it's history now--he needs to come up with answers and he has 4 days to do it.

Yeah I wasn't sure if that was Gomez or not and to be fair, the hold was mutual the guy had a hold of him too. The most obvious foul there was the guy holding Bradley.

to me the main problem is 10 minutes after the game was over the US coach still didn't know what the call was. That tells you how strange the call was.

Nobody except the ref knows what the call was and he isn't telling anyone

Yeah, come out prepared so there is less of a chance that the ref decides the game.

Will people around me please stop complaining about ties? Those are the rules, accept it or just shut up and stop following it.

EVERYONE I've talked to here at work that watched is totally pissed about that disallowed goal. I haven't talked to one person who isn't angry as hell. And rightly so. Even guys that don't watch or like soccer and watched the game are ticked.

Ughh, i hope the bitching doesn't last too long. We're still alive and have a damn good chance of moving on. Let it go, they're not going to change anything.

Yep, channel the energy into coming out fired up for the next game. Don't bitch about the goal; don't be happy with a draw.

Of course they're not, but being a Mexico supporter, I'm not sure posting this is in your best interest.

So if the Eng game ends in a draw, what theoretically is the 2nd tiebreaker after point differential?
