So, are we going to suck or be good this year? Don't play both sides of the coin.

Personally, I think we DO step back this year. As in 8-8 or 7-9 and miss the playoffs. BUT, I think the long term prognosis is good. We didn't pull a Seattle and dump huge contracts on veterans to continue our run that then break down and cause years of stepping back opposed to one year.
I said we'd get it fixed but expect a bumpy ride like you i think we take a step back and retool a bit and come out like gangbusters next year, we have a lot of decent talent but no leadership no field general and a goofed up offensive line who look like there all playing upside down like the fitz sports science episode

To be honest.. When it happened.. I actually thought to myself that these guys really liked Leinart.. They seem to have a good time with each other.. And it wasnt all gloom and doom as the media was reporting..

That's how it appeared to me. They likely wouldn't goof around with a dude they don't like. From all reports, Toast is a goof himself and jokes around with the team.

But I think we need to hire some FBI profilers to get to the bottom of this, because it really is important. The entire season rests on this matter.

Does anyone agree that the team played harder for DA then Leinart? I wouldnt doubt that there are guys on that team that dont think leinart can get it done

Nope. I don't. If Toast connected with Williams on that long pass there wouldn't be any nonsense right now...but it appeared that SW ran an incorrect route.

DA had one big connection, and not a lot else...and faced mostly the second defense of TN.

It didn't look like the team ever played all that hard, for anyone.

i agree with the first part. But looked to me like Matty just plain under threw him.

That wasn't the consensus of the announcers, or others like Sando. Toast threw out and SW went in. No biggie, it happens. I give the benefit of the doubt to Toast there, because he knows the offense well.

I'd go back and watch it again, but I don't hate my life that much.

well two games and they haven't even put the ball in beanies hands while matt was in there
I don't know if the coaching staff ever truthfully had faith in matt,
I feel bad when green picked him coming out of usc with his pedagree, and running a pro style offense,
I was elated I thought we had our QBOF,
and when he got injured after the monday night meltdown and some of the bad press he got I couldn't think of anyone better than to learn the nuance's of the game from than kurt warner,
so I figured it could only make him better. we'll say maybe he'll come out blazing when the season starts and prove me wrong,
and I know we didn't win any preseason games last year and its not coach whiz's thing
but you just had a quiet confidence with warner that i don't feel from matt, and I don't think his teammates do either

his teammates were makijng face's and mocking him behind his back on camera!

i don't believe i have ever seen that before can you imagine them doing that to warner during an interview

this team has zero respect for matt, wow! just wow!

Darnell Dockett screws around all the damn time and if you read some articles on the Cards you'd know that DA is one of the biggest goof balls on the team.

Good lord some of you guys are going to find anything and try to turn it into some over dramatic BS involving Leinart. Go work for ESPN. "Oh my, Matt had his arms crossed standing on the sideline he must want to get traded away ASAP!!!!" Remind me to steer clear of the Cards boards for the rest of the preseason. Step away from the ledge please.

Much ado about nothing!

Nine O, A-dub, and DA made faces behing Matt. So what?
If anything it tells me this team is loose and preseason doesn't affect them like it does us the fans.

I think it was a good thing.

I wonder what would be being said if Leinart was dancing around with DD and Anderson like Young was with Johnson, et al.

We had people on here last week ragging on ML because he had his hat on backwards. I think the Titans should be concerned because Young was wearing his hat half-cocked to the side.

People would probably be up in arms because matt wasn't studiously paying attention to the game at hand, taking mental notes about potential coverages the Titans 2nd stringers would give him if we meet in the Super Bowl. "Why is he smiling and having fun!?!??!" NFL - No Fun League!!

No. Their own jobs are on the line and half-assing it would be suicidal.

IMO, we were flat and the Titans were more pumped to play. Then, they came down to our level as the game went on.

It was a combination of coming out flat, some horrid Oline play and the Titans playing to win a preseason game while as we all know Coach Whiz does not. They blitzed almost every play.

Leinart is the starter. Coach Whiz doesn't care about preseason other than trying to keep everyone healthy.

In case anyone forgot DA also missed 2 WIDE OPEN receivers in the End Zone on his one good drive

oh I'm laughing my butt off birdgang. please, if you read some of my other posts you'd find out I had very high hopes for matt,

most everyone on here is over reacting and being really nasty because they know matt stunk up the field the last two weeks
so shoot the messenger,sad...this board didn't use to be like this

anyway,I also acknowledged we didn't win a preseason game last year
but we had kurt and a lot of players we lost this offseason

there are many questions this year that we didn't have to ask ourselves last year, our receiving corp besides fitz is up for grabs,
were trying to nail down our cornerback position besides drc and both lines especially the offense look like the keystone cops out there

yet you all act like i want to see the cards fail.
this from a fan of 40 some odd years who's happiest day ever was making it to the superbowl
somebody said (and no i don't care to look and find out who)
that the board has reached a new low with my initial post, and i agree
but the new low came from some of the crapass response's that came after my initial thoughts,

so many here have blinders on again and thats ok we all tend to wear them especially in preseaason when the games our meaningless

and after the first four or so games if were 4 and 0 3and1 or I am a sporting fellow
even if were 2 and 2 and matt looks good and is reading his progressions and being a good in game manager and not making mistakes that cost us the game then I will bump this thread and eat my crow,

however if we are winless or 1 and 3 and matt is stinking up the joint or riding the pine i will also bump this thread so everyone else can have there serving of crow
until then no more observations or conclusions that may have been jumped to by me,
I will joyfully watch how the first quarter of the season plays out, and pray for the best and prepare for the worst,in the end thats all we can really do
good day gentleman, and hopefully a good season, but as for me I am through proving my loyalty to fans who some may not even be old enough to remember the days past sweat devil stadium

I thought it was a back shoulder throw that wasn't quite there. The receiver didn't turn for the ball until it was almost on the ground IIRC. 4 or 5 seconds into the play and he didn't look back at the ball. He could have easily adjusted if he turned around. I blame Williams on that one 80%. Rookie mistake.

If Matt doesn't do well, you will bump a thread about him doing an interview and players behind him joking?

Interesting jump........

maybe but to me it says that his teammates didn't have much respect for him or his skills or leadership, and they spend much more time with him than any of us do

I watched it. I thought it was funny.

Me too. Just Darnell being Darnell. The reporter should have caught on and turned around and stuck the mic in his face. She probably would have gotten a great sound bite.
