As a cardinals fan, you of all people should know the best D in the world is worthless if you have no offense.

The Giants "Thing" is they come back late in games.

Therefore, even with an elite QB, they are often losing most of their games until Eli kicks it into superstar mode and comes back.

Do you think any other QB could bring his team back week after week? The giants usually play poorly in the regular season and turn it up in the play offs.

No question. Without Eli, the Giants wouldnt even touch the playoffs.
You are changing the argument, but without <insert top QB> team wouldn't sniff playoffs.

Eli's numbers the first superbowl year were not really that elite until the Super Bowl run that is never made without the defense either.

As a Cardfan, I also know better than to believe value what the Giants' FO thinks of Rolle over what the Cards think. I have blasted Rolle plenty, but he keeps producing for the Giants. He makes more plays than either Card safety.

.

No Im not, this is Giants specific.

The Patriots did make the playoffs without Tom Brady back when they had Matt cassell.

The argument was that the Giants have an outstanding judgement of players. I dont disagree they are good, but to say that they won a superbowl off of that ability, is pushing it. Because, 90% of that success is Eli Manning. Not the defense. Not Tom Coughlin whos been on the verge of getting canned for forever. Eli alone.

That team, moreso than any other elite team, relies on its QB to win. They arent strategic geniuses. They are just fortunate to have a HOFr QB.

They had to have. I distinctly remember they were on top of their division

Damn. Dolphins took it.

Regardless, my point was the Giants would suck without Eli. Not be "OK". Suck

Nope. It is one of the many reasons why the Patriotfans hate the Cards. Cards made the playoffs, and the Pats did not, even though the Pats blew them out.

After this year, they probably really dont like the Cardinals. Especially if we end up 5-11.

Did it with the Pats. did it with GB in that wildcard game. Did it with the Vikings way back. We're that crap team thatll just ruin your season by having 1 good game per year.

Don't forget it was the Cards thrashing of Miami in 2008 that woke up the Dolphins and sent them on Miami's 11-3 run. Including the #1 killer of survivor leagues in history. Their win over NE the next week.

Miami had lost 20 of their last 21 games before crushing the Pats!

One major problem the Cards have had is when they let a lineman go they bring in a guy who is worse. It's the only position where that seems to happen. So to me it has to be Grimm.

Anybody want Ben Patrick or Leonard Pope back? Rolle? Dansby? Antonio Smith? MCFadden? But we replace Wells with Faneca who was basically finished with his NFL career. Colledge the worst lineman for Green Bay, Lutui with Hadnot and Snyder. Levi Brown with Brandon Keith. What the heck is going on?
You're right about spending the money, but not wasting it on mediocre or bad players. That's a given.

My point is that we're kidding ourselves if we believe that luck will definitely be on our side if we try to overhaul our O-line "on the cheap."
