Oklahoma University March 10
Kansas City head coach Dick Vermeil, Houston head coach Dom Capers and Houston general manager Charley Casserly were among the 100 or so NFL personnel there (every team represented). There were also a number of defensive line coaches there, including Tim Krumrie of the Bills and Andre Patterson of the Browns.
The players ran in the Sooners' old fieldhouse on AstroTurf but then did the positional workouts in the new fieldhouse on FieldTurf.
Player; Position; Gil Brandt's comments
Tommie Harris DL Harris (292 pounds), ran his 40s in 4.78 and 4.80, the short shuttle in 4.31 and the three-cone drill 7.31. He had a 31-inch vertical jump and his broad jump was 9-0 1/8. He chose not to lift here because he did 29 reps at the combine.
Derrick Strait DB Strait (198 pounds), ran his 40s in 4.55 and 4.52, the short shuttle in 4.1 and the three-cone drill 6.65. He had a 35½-inch vertical jump and his broad jump was 9-11.
Brandon Everage DB Everage did nothing -- he still has shoulder problems. No workout date has been scheduled as of yet.
Pasha Jackson LB Jackson (6-2 1/8, 240) ran the 40 for an average of 4.7. He added a 32-inch vertical, a 9-10 long jump, a 4.55 short shuttle and a 7.30 three-cone drill.
Kory Klein DL Klein (6-1¾, 287) ran for a 5.0 average in the 40. He did 24 reps, a 29½-inch vertical, an 8-11 long jump, a 4.54 short shuttle and a 7.25 three-cone drill.
Teddy Lehman LB Lehman (237 pounds) ran the 40 for an average of 4.55. He did the short shuttle in 4.20, the three-cone drill in 6.85, and that's it. He did not lift but did have an impressive workout.
Renaldo Works RB Works (5-11¾, 216) ran for an average time of average time of 4.52. He added 20 reps, a 36-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot broad jump, and shuttle times of 4.07 (short) and 6.90 (three cone).
