Oline and Leinart

Now that he signed will our Oline stategy and personel have to cahnge?
As a southpaw his back is towards the RT in passing situations and he would naturally roll to his left. Do we want Ross protecing his blinside?

Leinart, Leinart, LEINART!

To answer your question, probably not. He wont have to worry about that though, at least for preseason anyway.

Not worried about the pass-protection from our OL. Even with all the injuries they ranked in the middle in the league in pass-protection last season (sack per attempt).

But it will change the scheme somewhat.

I personally think that Leinart being a lefty will make Davis one of the best in the league. Due to his size he doesn't have as quick feet like other elite LTs, so he's overcompensation to make up for that. With all the pressure shifting to the RT, I think Davis will become more balanced and a monster in the run-game.

receivers will clearly have to get some reps with a left hand thrower. the ball will be spinning differently and in the wind will slice or hook differently. good thing we have enough time to get the work in prior to the real season.
