What about interviewing Marc Trestman. Guy has been a great HC in CFL and knows how to coach up a QB. I know he had his run before but the guy given a second chance could be a good score for a team.

Pretty sure he opted for an extension in his current position after interviewing for a HC job earlier in the week.

A quick goggle says that he recently signed a three year extension with the Montreal Alouettes.

I thought I recently read an article saying he would be open to coming back to the NFL. He did sign an extension last year that has 3 years left but I dont think he would turn down an interview

I don't think that Trestman left Arizona with particularly good feelings. He'd be a good match in Buffalo or Cleveland, methinks.

He was our OC for a few years and I still cringe when I read his name. I remember that there was some remarks about scripting the first 16 games of each game.

It has actually been to long to remember why I absolutely hated the guy as our OC but - the hate is still there.

Thanks but no thanks..

You know thats what Montana and Walsh did right? They scripted the first 15 plays of every game. Trestman also is widely regarded as by far the best coach in the CFL and has won 2 grey cups I beleive.

I am under the impression that every team scripts the first 8-15 plays of every game.

I believe most teams do.

They are looking for holes or weakness, or setting up later plays based on how the defense plays 'em.

The Trestman name surfaced with regard to the Cardinals opening about a week ago - something about some people in the organization liking him.

I have sort of a nerdy impression of him. Not that nerdy can't be good; just that I'd think Michael and others would want the team as a whole to be tougher and more physical.

Trestman was the OC the last time the raiders went to the super-bowl.
