Without geting too far ahead of ourselves, here we go:

A Cardinals win over the Bengals makes them 3-5
A 49ers win over the Rams makes them 4-5 and Rams 5-3
A Seahawks loss vs. Steelers makes them 5-3

The division could look like this come Sunday night:

Rams 5-3
Seahawks 5-3
49ers 4-5
Cardinals 3-5

Cardinals would be only "2" games back with 8 games remaining and still have games left with each team above them in the standings.
I know im reaching but its fun anyway to dream.

Go Cards/ America!

AZ I don't think the Steelers will beat the Seahawks, they are really struggling and the game is in Seattle.

The Cardinals aren't gonna make hte play-offs. The best we can hope for is a good, strong run toward the end of the season, and maybe next year we can contend.

If the Cardinals make the play-offs, I'll stand outside of SDS wearing nothing but a barrell, holding a sign saying "I'm an idiot."
I'll even post the picture, and I'll be loving it because my team is contending. But it won't happen.

Actually we all could do different poses around SDS and have our own 2005 Cardinal Fans Calendar! (just joking)

If the Cardinals beat the bungles, then I will begin to believe again that maybe, just maybe, Mac and Co. might be able to string together enough wins get us a wild card.

I guess there's no harm in speculating, but you don't even get into the ballpark for even half-serious playoff contention until you get a .500 record. Using my good math skills, I calculate that to be a minimum of three more games, two of which are on the road. That's pretty tough.

it's all about the next two games - they pull to within 4-5 and even I start thinking Kool-aid style.

First is possible. I don't think the other two will happen. Both 49er's and Steelers are struggling. But upsets do happen. I just need Cards to get a "W" in the Bengals game.

1965 is right

beat the been-gals first. The next two are definitely games we can win. That would put us at 5-5. St Lou, here is a ? but doable.
Should beat the bears, proved we can beat the whiners. Panthers ?. Can beat Seattle. Viqueens here ?
If we play the same way on D and open up the O a little bit we could go 8-8. If we take one or two of the question marks.....?
I know it's a very long shot, but, I think this team is alot better than the stats show so far.
Don't start throwing stuff yet, the show isn't over.

Man I love seeing some optimism!!! I agree with some of the senerios being talked about. I think the wild card is still very possible. I dont think anyone in our division is all that dominant, so they are all going to have some upset losses. We have already had our fair share, so I hope we can keep rolling forward and get the next couple wins.

All I have to say is this:

Is this what we (Bengals Fans) sounded like over the years when the Bengals played poor football? An upset is one thing, but please. What you are asking for above just to make the playoffs will take an act of god. In order to properly move up in the NFL you will need to take certain steps. Be realistic guys. It will be a couple of years until your team and mine are playoff bound. Bengals have a better chance of making it this year due to their pathetic division, but I still doubt it.

I hope you and your team the best, but please be realistic.

In my best Jim Mora voice:

"Playoffs?! Playoffs?!"

It is a long shot at best, but hey. Cincy is 3-4, Pittsburgh is 2-5 & Cleveland is 3-5. If we somehow manage to win those games we will be 5-5.

I know I sound like a nut, but it is possible. Right? Right guys?

Don't be so smug. You guys sound just like the Panthers fans last year right before we beat them. You guys are 3-4, which to me means you guys suck just as bad as we do. And you guys haven't turned the ball over like we have, you guys actually haven't gotten quite a few turnovers.

Just remember. I'm going to have fun making you guys have Cardinal avatars after this weekend.

I need some Kool Aid

I've been a season ticket holder for 9 years now. I also love the fact that Bright Eyes and Nidian showed me the way to this web site so I could find other people who are as enthusiastic about the Cards as I am. That being said, I need a LOT of that Kool Ade you're talking about to really think we've got a chance to be in the playoffs this year.
Now next year ...

If the Cardinals can win tomorrow being 3-5 at the halfway point isnt too bad considering how bad this team was in the 1st half of the season. Most playoff teams usually go 6-2 or 5-3 in the second half of the season so its ok to still be opTIMistic about our Cardinals playoffs chances but this all means nothing if they dont win tomorrow!!!!!!!

Go Cards/ America!

Nice win. Cardinals win two in a row! Wish Pittsburgh would have won but cant get all 3 things to happen every week. Cards still alive at 3-5!!!!!!

The NFC is horrible this year it would be more manageable to just start looking at the NFC and trying for the two WC slots.

We aren't doing bad from that angle.....

P.S. God love a Cardinal fan with playoff hopes ... If you look in the new Websters under optimistic your pic is there...

I believe that IF we bwin next week we will be at 500 the next week. I also believe that the D line and O- line are playing at a very high level right now. Look at what the Niners did today against the Rams. We held the Niners last week to no big plays. We ran against the Niners Shipp 165 yards the team over 200.

We have turned a small corner. Next wek on the road aginst a team that has lost 3-4 games in a row. A hungry team. Not a bad team. They will try to take it out on us. If we win next week, IMP we will whip Cleveland the week after. If we lose next week then Cleveland may not be the same.

Focus, mind set, play together, stay in Saturday night , think football, team, win!

Well, we can set our sights on the Rams since they are one of the two WC's at 5-3. Man, I'd love to get a do-over on that Detroit game.

I would love a do over on the Detroit and Ravens games. Turnovers we didn't play as one. IMO if we play them over we win both or at least one of them but alas we can';t do them over so its on to Pittsburgh.
