You guys are lame. And anyone who thinks it's funny are lame. I pay ****'s to read contracts that I don't personally read all the damn time. It doesn't matter if it's rental agreements, car agreements, contracts for jobs, or marriage licenses, I have no f*cking clue what any of it says. People read that crap for a living, and those people aren't me.

:biglaugh:

And one day youll likely get screwed because you are completely misinformed. AGAIN would be YOUR fault.

If it could potentially cost you two million dollars and it is the most important contract up to this point in your life that you have ever signed and you don't read it and or understand the terms...................... Then you my friend are an idiot too and you deserve the consequences.

Trust no one, especially an agent who have repeatedly ripped off players & stars for their $$$ in numerous ways! That's why those lawyers word things like that. If you don't understand, ask.

I would damn well know I needed to be at workouts if it involved $2mil, guaranteed!

Sure, blame your agent and fire him. How about instead you actually have your contract and any escalator clauses explained to you and put down on paper so you know what you have to do to maximize your contract. What a clown.

Uh....YEAH. You do blame the agent. You pay him to handle contract negotiations and then explain them to you.

So yeah, the agent plays a part in the this, maybe not the whole part, but some. Should Brown have known better ? Yes, but whose job is it to tell him ?

Lifetime?

For most it's a down payment on a house that will be foreclosed on in 4-5 years. :D

He meant normal working people who understand how to live on 50,000.00 or less a year.

2 million = 40 years @ 50,000.00 a year.

That is a lifetime of money in my book

And you are just going to assume he wasn't told? Agents are paid based on a % of the contract value. So the agent is just going to throw away thousands of dollars and not inform his client?

Even so this isn't some confusing multi million/billion dollar organization deal here that is so convoluted that you need attorneys out the wazoo and accountants etc... Its a contract to play sports with escalators and bonuses. If the player himself didnt make himself privy to the details then he is an ASSHAT as far as Im concerned. No different then the idiots who just hand their money over to an accountant and say manage my money yet never check on them and before you know it all their money has been squandered and embezzled and they are now broke.

Nobody to blame but yourself. No excuses.

Fair argument.

Are you going to assume he was told ?

Yeah, yeah. Is millions of dollars, and its the agents job, etc., etc.

In the business I work in, I see idiots that throw millions out the window because of the ignorance of their job EVERY DAY. And I mean EVERY DAY!

Just because it involves millions of dollars, doesn't make the people (agent and player) and less stupid or poor at their job then people who work with pennies and nickels all day.

Not to mention, a million dollars to big business is like $100 dollars to the rest of us. Again, the reason I saw, is because I see it EVERY DAY. And yes, it is hard to watch.

Money does not equal intelligence.

They both got skin in the blame.

Cause it is not like Brown was out screwing around. He was working, just not at the right location. He has to know where he needs to be, and his agent is supposed to make sure,
even if he has to tell the grown man 50 times where he needs to be.

JMHO, in this debate.

Stupid all around is where we all agree at least.
