OT: CAR gets Josh McCown from MIA

Panthers acquired QB Josh McCown from the Dolphins in exchange for undisclosed compensation.

Miami did well to get something for a guy about to get cut, but Carolina was desperate after Matt Moore's injury. The deal likely means John Beck is safe as the Fins' third QB. McCown is a poor starter, but can throw downfield. If Jake Delhomme got hurt, we couldn't expect a huge dropoff from Carolina's pass catchers with McCown in. Brett Basanez's roster spot is now in doubt.

Whoa .. Easy there.. Josh is just going down the same path as all the other great QB's like Montana, Marino and Kelly that get traded, released and switched to WR in their career before they become the great QB with Hall of Fame status..

John Fox has always liked Josh...when Josh was here, he worried more about having to play against Josh because it made it harder for him to play press man coverage with the knowledge that the Cardinals could run all the routes away from the middle and Josh coud scorch them for double digit yards on a scramble.
