Chargers are making the same bonehead move that the Cards did when first arriving in AZ. The owner stubbornly named the team after the city of Phoenix, isolating the rest of the state especially Tucson which hates all things Phoenix. He finally came to his senses and changed from Phoenix Cards to AZ Cards.
Chargers are doing the same. There is only one LA team, and rightfully so. If smart, someone will explain to the dumb-ass Charger owner that going with the name LA will isolate the rest of southern cal. He should want to keep as many of San Diego fans as possible, many who hop on a train for the 2 hour ride for the home games in LA. He needs to bring in fans that don't care for the LA Rams. The best way to do this is to not name your team LA.
When he unveiled his new logo and name it should have been the Chargers of Southern California. It seems hard to believe to me that an owner could be so short sighted. Maybe it is just ego and pride thinking he is in some kind of competition to beat the Rams in LA. Someone needs to point out to him that its their town and their stadium. He needs a completely separate identity, and has the rest of So Cal to pull from.
What a dunce and such bad people he has influencing him in this area. He needs to fire them all for lack of imagination, and for not having a pulse on the heart of the situation. You would think these people were from another state, like the Cards were, without any idea of the mindset of the city or state he is moving to.
The Chargers name and logo should represent all of what So Cal has to offer people from San Diego up to Santa Barbara. A little kid with a etch a sketch could have come up with that LA thingy.
