The New England Patriots are the greatest team in the history of the NFL.
Tom Brady is the greatest QB in the history of the NFL.
Bill Belichick is the greatest coach in the history of the NFL.

These facts are beyond contestation.

The Patriots are the 1st team to go to their 9th Super Bowl(1985, 1996, 2001, 2003-04, 2007, 2011, 2014, 2016).

Tom Brady is the first QB to lead his team to 7 Super Bowls.

Bill Belichick is the first coach to lead his team to 7 Super Bowls and is attempting to be the first to win 5.

Tom Brady has led his team to 7 Super Bowls without ever having a marquee receiver save for 2007 when he had Randy Moss. He has never had a marquee RB either. Only his current TE is a household name.

The Patriots are the only team to appear in a Super Bowl in 4 straight decades(80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's).

The Patriots are the only team in history to win 10 or more games 14 consecutive years and with the exception of 1 season have done it with the same QB and head coach. Incidentally, the one season Brady didn't factor in was the only season they didn't make the playoffs, however they did win 11 games.

Tom Brady has a chance to become the only player in history to win 5 Super Bowls with 1 team(Charles Haley has 5 rings with 2 different teams).

It's easy to hate a team like this but there isn't a single one of us who wouldn't trade our history for one like this. I know I would. In any sport. Must be nice.

As much as I don't like the Pats I have a lot of respect for the entire organization including BB and TB. They are a well prepared, well oiled machine that exploits the weaknesses in other team.

As much as it would be nice to see the Falcons win this, I have a hard time believing that NE won't find a way to win this game.

And one of the key ingredients is how rooted in the moment they are---how quick they are to point out their own faults---and how disciplined and selfless they are in how they present themselves to the media. They truly put team first.

Nope, should they have?

I agree with everything the OP posted and this could be the last true dynasty in all of sports. We may get a 3-5 year run by a franchise, but possibly nothing like this ever again with how FA works and CBA's get renegotiated.

It's been truly amazing to watch. I've enjoyed it.

As much as i want them to win the SB, i don't want Floyd to get a ring.

Will it matter if he is inactive?

Have they ever lost 4 Super Bowls in a row?

The Pats organization led by Bellicheat are freaking incredible. We have & will not ever see another winning 15 year period like this in the salary cap era!!!

as long as it was not in a superbowl I would take that K-Gun Bills team against the modern Pats 10/10 times..... Those Bills would destroy this Pats team....as long as it wasn't in a super bowl...in the superbowl, they could be ahead 24 -0 in the fourth and find a way to lose it..... my fault,...I cursed them at the beginning of the run when they destroyed the Raiders in the AFC Championship game..... Bills will never win a Super Bowl until the Raiders do

Sorry oaken but you seriously don't understand how great this team & Bellicheat are & that's taking nothing away from the Bills & those players. He's the smartest HC ever who like Mitch said knows his teams strengths & weakness & exploits the other teams like no other HC has ever done. I'm sorry but Levy isn't even close & he was a master motivator & psychologist as well.

Teams, players & coaches are measure by greatness in what that do in the playoffs inuding the Super Bowl.

As someone who grew up in the bay area watching the 49ers for the first half of my life, including the entire Bill Walsh/Eddie D dynasty years, who still has a big photo of Joe Montana gracing my den not far from a big one of Larry Fitz, who thought Joe was the greatest ever and would never be surpassed...

I'm a realist, and I must agree with you.

I agree, and Tom Brady is amazing and far more than a 'system QB' because he makes the system possible... but if I have one possession left and need to drive down the field in the waning seconds of a game for a score, I still want Joe Montana :)

You are off your nut. I just simmed the 1990 Bills(the team that came closest to winning the Super Bowl) vs this seasons Patriots and the Patriots won 7 out of 10 matchups, most being blowouts.

While I agree that Montana was a light's-out closer, the game is a lot faster today than it was when Montana was playing.

All true and yet I still hope Atlanta boat races them.

It's been a remarkable year for them winning with so many injuries etc.

Before we crown the Patriots as the best of all time, let's not forget that the Belichick regime has been caught for two major cheating scandals. It cost them draft choices. Additionally opposing coaches feel that their locker room is bugged and headsets seem to not work properly during games (for the opposition.) Don't want to get into a pissing contest with anyone but those are facts. However their winning track record is impressive.

Funny thing, up until the 90's the Raiders claimed this title - they were the only team that went to a SB in every decade - 60's, 70's and 80's. Meaningless now, but something Raider fans used to point out.

The Pats organization led by Bellicheat are freaking incredible. We have & will not ever see another winning 15 year period like this in the salary cap era!!!
By the time Brady is done they might be pushing 18-20 years. Brady just shows no signs of slowing down and as long as Goodell keeps poking him Brady will have something to prove.

I'm torn on this. I'd like the Pats to win because of the dynasty thing, but Atlanta's D is playing better right now, imo. On the other hand, I don't want Atlanta to win because it'll just sink the Phx area even further down the championship wallows ladder. With the Cards it was, "Hey at least we're not New Orleans." Then the Saints won. Now it's Detroit and Cleveland, but Detroit actually has more NFL titles than the Cards.

With the Suns we had the Cavs, but that ended last year. For the Coyotes we still have STL and our saving grace is the Dbacks, but even that feels like it has been forever given our local teams' success lately.

I don't know, those Bills fattened up on a weak AFC. From the mid 80's to the mid 90's the NFC was by far the dominant conference; the SB's generally were blowouts during that time. Hard to compare the two era's

Another reason to root for the Pats is the fact that they beat Seattle in one of the most controversial, and funniest, endings to a SB ever. They will always have a special place in my heart for that. :D

Name the NY Giants defensive coordinator who shut down the K-gun Bills?

You don't have to like a team, player, or coach to respect them. Growing up, I hated the Cowboys(still do). I'm taking about white hot hatred. I mean, this kind of hatred:

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

But I always respected Tom Landry. Hell, there are even players on teams I hate that I wish we had. I mean, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish we got Russell Wilson.

To me it starts and ends with their head coach, witnessed by the fact that so many players, no name players I might add, come and go early. Even his assistant coaches have come and gone. He has a nose for talent, whether on the player or coach level. On top of this, his game planning and coaching strategies are similarly phenomenal. He is a wonder that's for sure. If I were a young coach just starting out, I would do and give whatever it took to learn from him.
