I was at that game too, though working concessions for a high school fundraiser. My mom trying to pour beer from a tap was a sight to see! She literally poured one that was like 80% foam and the guy looked at her like “Is this real life?!”

I remember when Aeneas hit a young Troy Aikman on a CB blitz and Aikman was out cold with maybe his first of many pro concussions. Aeneas said he knew something was wrong and stated he say blood in the ear hole of Troy's helmet and felt like he just killed the guy. Aeneas was a football player and the best technique at the position I ever saw... the only guy I have seen play which reminds me of Aeneas is Richard Sherman in his prime

Anyone who thinks Peterson was even close to the equal of Aeneas, who was not only an incredible cover corner, but also a great playmaker and fearless in run support bring the wood (while not being that physically imposing) is drinking drano.
The only reason he wasn’t acknowledged at the level of a Deion, Rod Woodson or a Darrel Greene was because he was on complete dogcrap teams for the overwhelming majority of his career.

Remember Aeneas played back in the day where a CB was allowed to get their hands on a receiver more but what Aeneas might have lacked in freakish athletic ability as Peterson, he more than made up in technique and instincts and why he was still great in coverage much longer than Peterson when physically he was dropping off. I forget the span, but I think at one time Aeneas had like a whole season which WRs were unable to score on him. In their prime I say it's a wash, one due to physical ability while the other being technique and instinct

Commentator made me laugh when Plumber scrambles for a 1st down and he says "That's why they call him "The Snake"". Nothing to do with him being called Jake and there being a famous wrestler at the time called Jake the Snake, it was because of his mobility...sure.

That was back when I still had season tickets I still have the red towel they handed out at that game somewhere. Aeneas was awesome, probably my favorite Cardinal of all time--I ran in to him at the Super Bowl in Minnesota, he was walking through the convention center, I don't think anyone else in the crowd knew they had a HOF right there in front of them...I walked up introduced myself as a long time Cardinal fan and we shook hands, super nice guy.
Same, but then again I only missed two games (both preseason) during our time at SDS.
Come on, man. That team won 4 straight games which is one more win than they got in all of 2000.

uh... the Snake was his nickname because of his mobility, elusiveness and way he could slither out of trouble, which he started showing off at ASU. Most notably in the Rose Bowl for a TD run that should have won them the national title.
Jake The Snake Roberts time in the Sun had passed a decade earlier and he was already smoking crack by then.
We went from SDS to SFS in part because of Aeneas.
In 2000, he played his final season for us, but it was that year he had possibly his greatest impact on the future of the franchise.
With a vote on a stadium proposal only two days away, Aeneas almost single-handedly defeated the Washington Redskins at SDS. He had a fumble recovery that he returned for a record-tying 104 yards and then an INT shortly after that (which resulted in 3 more points). Gave us a 10 point lead which we used to hang on for a 1-point victory.
Terrible season - only 3 wins. But Aeneas apparently gave the voters some hope with that victory and his exciting plays. Prop 302 passed two days later and the rest is history.

Wikipedia is so unreliable. I personally always thought it was because of Kenny Stabler and/or Jake being elusive.
