Yeah you're right, I'm quite sure Harbaugh can take our same lousy QBs & entire offense & make them perform as well as the Niners! It's not all coaching...just isn't!!!

IMO he's still not the answer or better than a middle of the road QB at best.

It's just a shame that he has a mediocre coach like Harbaugh. If he had an offensive genius like Whisenhunt at the helm, he could really blossom.

I can say without hesitation that twice in his career, Wiz has had a pretty darn good QB...how did those offenses perform? Did they win? ;) Just sayin.

Ugh. I called it two years ago. I'm a Nevada season ticket holder and I wanted Kap in the draft and I got called an idiot for it. I hate being right.

Slow your roll buddy. One game does not a career make.

The only thing this game is accomplishing is making me despise the Cardinals more by the minute. 6 turnovers = lose. Rookie QB, torches a top D in the NFL.

POS organization. Take notes Bidwills. SF is the way a team should be run.

Are you sure he's just not a product of a running game that needs to be respected and a fantastic defense ?

The next time a Nevada team has a fantastic defense it will be the first time. I watched this kid in college and yes he's always had a good run game but never a good defense.

But he's actually throwing the ball where his guys can catch it, a respected running game and fantastic defense don't improve that. As you know our QBs can't get the ball to our WRs even when they have no defender anywhere near them.

It's just plain sad our QBs just can't get the ball anywhere near where it's supposed to be even with guys wide open.

Stupid Cardinals

No it's all coaching, talent has nothing to do with it :D

You know Bucky, I was just elated when the Cards drafted Leinart but that all went down the toilet. As Jake has pointed out a zillion times, when you miss on a first round QB it sets the club back at least 5 years. Without that talent at QB we're seeing that prophecy come so painfully true.

Alex Smith's worst-case scenario just happened - Kaepernack got to play and performed just as well as many (including myself) thought he would. Then, Harbaugh follows up the game with a press conference indicating he would "ride the hot hand." Just surprised it came against the Bears, which makes it far more damning than initially perceived.

Whoever thought Smith had any sort of stronghold on the QB situation in San Fran is dead wrong. My guess is Harbaugh slips the neurologists a $100 and tells them, "don't clear Alex just yet."

BTW....if somehow Alex is released, I want no part of him in AZ....none.

It's called coaching... The only thing Whis is good at is breaking the confidence of quarterbacks...

Then I suppose Harbaugh is a god awful coach. Because he nuked Alex's confidence on the podium just now.

Kaepernick had command of that offense, in a way that Kolb or Skelton have never shown.

Nothing about this kid says "flash in the pan".
Making conclusions based on 1 game is being a flash in the pan. Didn't Kevin Kolb win player of the week the first week he started? Everybody needs to relax on Kaepernick. Once the DC's adjust to him, we'll see. He may be great but he may also be middle of the road, or less.

I guess after this past weekend, we could assume that Chad Henne has turned his career around also.

I was intrigued by this kid coming out but he was no sure thing (and still isn't). Last night he showed progress but in the NFL you see it all the time where a guy has a really good game followed by a horrendous game.

He is young, mobile, has a cannon and has, in Whiz's terminology, "moxie". At the time he was drafter I would have liked the Cards to take a flyer on the kid but not as high as SF did.

Too soon to annoint but he looks like he has the tools to be really good.

Crazy what happens when you have a "system" that actually works with QB's and not against them.
