Notice at the bottom of that article, it shows the title again, with "Bruins Nation" next to it. Is that the author?

I just clicked on the article title at the bottom...That entire thing came from Bruins Nation forum.

I don't think this stuff is 100% accurate.

What a load of crap. This is borderline libel.

"Deadbeat Dad is a pejorative term (primarily U.S.) that is commonly used by the child support agency to refer to men who have fathered a child but fail to pay child support ordered by a family law court or statutory agency such as the Child Support Agency." - Source: Wikipedia

Yes, it can also define an unsupportive parent but what are the custody arraignments? Matt lives and works in Arizona. So lame.

Wait....so the dad has a career where he works in another state, the mom is a college student who is on summer break? Strange that she would see the kid much more than him at this point.

Using the The Self Help Law Center California Child Support Calculator.

Mom making nothing (student).

Dad, being Matt, making 8 mill a year.

Dad, being such an unsupportive father :sarcasm:, sees his kid 10% of the time.

Dad pays $951,192.

Hey, I agree with it because that is his obligation as a father but that is a load of cash so she shouldn't be bitching.

People inside and outside the USC women's basketball program say they've seen motherly traits in Cameron.

Cameron took an interest in Jody and Derek Wynn's young child, Jada, early on and baby sat whenever the husband-wife USC assistant coaches needed help during her freshman and sophomore years.

"We've always known that she was going to be a great mother," Derek Wynn said.

His presence has influenced Cameron, 21, who has always wanted to be a mom, but never expected a child this soon.

"When this all happened, it was like, Wait, I didn't want it to happen like this,' " Cameron said. "But now that he's here, he's changed my life and he's made it. I can't even explain it. Being a mom is the best thing ever. He makes everything worth it."

Her sister, Emily Monroy, gave birth to a daughter, Drew, on Dec. 12, 2005. Cameron occasionally came home from school and always looked for her niece.

"It's just been so much fun to be able to be mommies together", said Cameron.

Wow. I am so surprised she turned up pregnent right before Matt is getting set for a big payday. If Matt was really a Trojan Man, we would not be reading this article.

Saying it differently, the only one surprised by her pregnancy was Leinart, and he should not have been. Say it specifically, she knew what she was doing and wanted to get pregnant.

Now, this is only my opinon. Not worth much at all, just connecting the dots.

Oh, and this statement from her just killed me:

Matt comes and goes whenever he wants," Cameron said. [...] "I don't want to sit here and bad-mouth his lifestyle, but it is hard because we are different people. He likes that Hollywood stuff and I don't like that and raising a kid together, you have to work together as parents, but we're so different.

Yeah, so why did you sleep with him? You knew what kind of guy he was beforehand.

She probably thought he was hot. There was also probably some alcohol involved. Lots of college kids wind up in that position. Kudos to them for keeping the baby.

Do we know this was even really her saying this? I'm not saying it's not, but it's a UCLA forum here--not exactly friendly to one of the icons of their major rival.

Well, it is an easy decision when you are given 16 mil out of college. That kid is set up already.

Definately. Hot night of drunken passion at a football and basketball mixer.

I could use my favorite quote from King Pin here but it is highly "offensive".

Big Ern is the man!

Actually this couple was together for almost 2 years I believe....and Brynn was Matt's only steady GF in college. How could she have not known what she was getting into? If you have a BF that requires security to get to FB practice because it was the only way for him to pass through crowds of fans and the press - plus having all the Hollywood crowd hanging around the team, who do you think you were sleeping with?

Every woman who has a child with her ex-husband, BF or whoever, and he is in the picture trying his best to be a father, deserves respect....if for no other reason than he is the father of your child. Get over it Brynn, comport yourself with dignity and keep your complaints and grievences between you and Matt.

Is this really a story? Leinart lives and works in Arizona, the child lives in Thousand Oaks. If the mother (or any mother under similar circumstances for that matter) expects the Dad to be around full-time in that sort of situation then she's delusional.

It's gone to PFT (must be slow when it comes to Non-Vick news):

POSTED 5:22 p.m. EDT, July 24, 2007
LEINART IN HOT WATER WITH HIS BABY MAMA
Though the controversy that has not (yet) resulted in Matt Leinart sending numerous profane text message to the mother of his child and then claiming under oath that he forgets doing so, there's definitely trouble brewing between Leinart and Brynn Cameron.
In July 24 item on the website of People magazine (we read it only for the Sudokus), Cameron sounds off regarding the disconnect between the contribution Leinart makes to the rearing of their child, and the contribution he claims to make.
"It's kind of hard for me as the mom," Cameron said. "I'm with Cole probably 99.9 percent of the time – to open a magazine or read a newspaper article with Matt saying, 'Oh, I love being a dad. I love changing diapers. I love doing this.' I'm like, Wait, what?

"It's been hard when I'm doing all the work, but he gets all the credit," she said. (Did they secretly get married?)
"I don't want to sit here and bad-mouth his lifestyle," she said, "but it is hard because we are different people. He likes that Hollywood stuff and I don't like that. It's hard, but I have to raise Cole to be a strong, secure kid so he knows what's right and wrong, what's good and bad and what really matters in life, which isn't what's going on in Hollywood or who's dating who. That's not what it's all about, and I think he'll know that being raised by me."
Amen. And it's fitting that her comments that attempt to put in perspective the meaningless of celebrity watching were reprinted . . . in . . . People . . . magazine.

That would be 6.5 million spread out over 18 years. Call me crazy, but that might be fair considering what he makes. If Cole gets the scratch, he should buy a house while it's a buyer's market.

I think in TX it is 20% of salary for the first kiddo, and 5% for each one after that. That is statutory and doesn't take into consideration any special needs. I don't know what it would be in California.

Another reason Matt should stick to the Paris Hilton/Jessica Simpson types of the world, at least you know they're on the pill.

I think California is 90% of your income, your dignity, testicles, left leg, right hand, and a date with your new girlfriend.

Seriously though, California is the worst state to be a man and going thru a divorce or custody issues. Frankly I'm still surprised they let the man in the courtroom anymore, let alone speak in his defense.
