I see where you are coming from but,

She is currently the sole custodian of the child. So wouldnt it bare to reason that if the child should and is living the same luxury as his father wouldnt that role over to the mother as well by default since she is living with and raising the child full time? You going to have the kid live in a mansion and have the mother live in the gardening shack out back? Over the top example but you get the point.

6k a month is a REALLY nice car and REALLY nice house plus all the ameneties and the kid having everything he needs.

I support my family just fine on alot less and the mom is a druggie loser now that doesnt pay anything and never has. People who piss and moan about not getting child support can kiss my ass.

I greatly respect how you are doing right by your kids. Kudos to you for taking care of them.

BINGO!

I actually think the 30k is reasonable based on Leinart's wealth. Remember, no one has even accounted for his endorsement money in this thread. I also think Leinart should get more time with his son here. It would help his cause if he didn't do stuff like makeout with Brittney Spears or Paris Hilton anymore.

Brynn is at USC on scholarship, does anyone know how asking for that much money would not constitute "additional benefits" since Matt is an alumni??? From what I understand, she wishes to keep her status as a player on the BB team - on scholarship. We certainly do not need another mess with "additional benefits" and further involvement with the NCAA...what student athelete enjoys 30k per month to live on, even with a child?

On the other hand, SI had an article on Matt in the last issue - stating that Matt was "generous" with his money, maybe too generous.....maybe she feels that he might waste it all in good times for himself and his "entourage" therefore her wish to secure some of that money for her son. Only those two know for sure.....but Brynn's father did come out publically and stated that she "did not wish to get married"......wonder if an offer was made?

Alot of questions here, and only these two can answer what is really going on.

Dude, the Camerons live in Newbury Park, CA. It's one of the wealthiest areas in all of California. The median price on homes pushes a million.

Put in THAT context, it's why 30k doesn't seem too excessive, and 6k seems a bit low. It's not like it's a trailer home family trying to move up. If that was the case, you'd see someone trying to get a lot more than 30k.

Gotcha.

Because when the courts decide how much money a parent (usually the father) pays in support, it is deciding how much money should be payed to offer the child the means and lifestyle had the parents stayed together in one household. It isn't how much the mom (or dad) needs to raise the child. That's not to say that the custodial parents don't mainipulate the hell out of the system. My ex-wife had her parents (ex-father-in-law was a wealthy doctor) paying for her rent, food and gave her an allowance after we divorced but I had to pay out the butt because she had no income. They gave her cash so I the only thing that I could get her on was child care because the child care center had her dad's checks on file.

Annnnnnyyyyyyyyyway...it isn't what mom needs, it's "how would the child be raised if mom and dad were together."

Writing a check does not justify that he is doing his part. I can't believe that so many of you think it makes him a good dad.

Matt needs to grow up quickly. He is the face of the Cardinals and has the opportunity to replace Vick as a face of the NFL. There is nothing wrong with lovin' the ladies but do it at home behind closed doors. The stories of him/Spears, him/any hot girl on a whim, etc will hurt him.

He needs to become less Hollywood and start acting like an grown up parent. Just my two cents.

From that article on the first page in pertinent part:

We're told Leinart's also waging a "gung-ho" battle for custody, and recently filed a petition to establish paternity. Sources tell TMZ that the former USC star already "comes back to L.A. once a week, every week, to see the baby," but he wants a schedule where he can see the kid in Arizona as well. Unlike most pro athlete dads who have kids out of wedlock, we're told Matt is an engaged father who wants to be in his son's life.

Exactly. And this is a dispute between wealthy families. Comparing most of our situations to theirs doesn't really relate.

I'm concerned about this hurting Leinart's prep for the season. They have a court date scheduled for Aug. 13th, a day we have practice.

I've still got money on Rudy Carpenter as the one who ends up raising Matt Leinart's kid. I've got money on a big settlement, a few years of big paychecks for Cameron, and an eventual announcement of engagement to Carpenter followed by a lengthy courtship.

Here's what gets me.. She said this..

"It's kind of hard for me as the mom," Cameron said. "I'm with Cole probably 99.9 percent of the time – to open a magazine or read a newspaper article with Matt saying, 'Oh, I love being a dad. I love changing diapers. I love doing this.' I'm like, Wait, what?

Then turns around and wants alot of cash..

How do the two equate?

"He aint changing diapers" , "I want 30k a month!"

Somethings fishy..

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that he doesn't spend much time with the kid. He has chosen the party scene over the parent scene.
As other people have pointed out, there's just as many sources to refute your claims as there are those that back it up. In fact, the only person here saying Matt's a bad parent is Brynn Cameron. An ex who just happens to be in a custody and child support case with Leinart. Not to say her claims are false but that should be taken with a grain if salt considering the circumstances.

I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I was 23 with good looks, and a $50M contract. The daily temptation would be hard. IMO, he lived the life as a player the last 6 years...it's time to grow up.
So you're not allowed to have fun anymore once you turn 25? If going out and having attachment-free relationships is how certain people choose to enjoy their free time regardless of age and if said behavior is not affecting his profession or his parenting (And Brynn Cameron seems to be the only person suggesting this is the case) then I don't see where there is a problem.

Who cares... He is 25 and he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life with this chick. There is no obligation to have a relationship because of a kid, he is in the highlight of his life right now. I am sure that kid has a Nanny anyhow...

WHO CARES!!! CAN WE DELETE THIS THREAD???

It's news about our most important player. It's certainly worth a thread.

It certainly worth a thread, but Leinart isn't our most important figure. That distinction belongs to Scott Uni-bar Player, also known in come circles as the Lion of the Desert.

Hooking up with any hot girl that comes along is not a good example. I am just saying that he has the opportunity to be the future face of the NFL and he needs to be more low key. Ever hear of Peyton Manning?

I disagree 100%. I believe nailing every hot girl you see is good for you.

Bad Example.

Payton got hitched only a few months after being drafted.

What about Tom Brady, Tony Romo, and so on.
