40,

Say you came into this thread reading an arguement between myself and a fan of another team. Lets pretend ( :) ) I was saying that RG effed up the Fitz thing while the opposing fan said he thought RG did good work on it. Who's side would you take?

Neither. I'd never back a enemy fan against a Card fan, so I would refrain from telling you how wrong you are.:D

Me either, but I thought the correct response to the OP was WHO CARES!!!

:bigyawn:

I care, because he is a good player that we have to face twice a year. If he had signed with the Mariners or Supersonics though, I wouldn't care much.

And I have to say I agree with "the Chicken". The deal Fitz signed a few weeks ago was a good deal for both sides, but only in the context of what his salary would have been. It should have never gotten to that point. Fitz would have signed a more Card friendly deal last year, but Graves either didn't try, or didn't offer enough incentive to do so.

Also he didn't call us whiners, he simply responded to you saying,

"In the first place, the Cards would not have offered him $30,000,000 at the start of 2007. If they had of, he might have accepted it and RG would have been crucified for handing out such a ridiculous contract to a WR who hadn't even hit his incentives."

I also thought it was a respectful discussion for awhile. Sorry 40yr, your a Card fan, and I love your enthusiasm, but I think you are wrong on the whole matter and disrespectful to an otherwise respectful fan visiting the forum.

I haven't really read any of this thread. But 40yrfan and cardmd are right and the seahawk fan is wrong.

"Otherwise respectful fan" - ARE YOU SERIOUS ?

Instigation and pretentiousness is the new respectable these days, I guess.

I refuse to comb through this entire thread to find the one word that you construed as instigation or inflammatory. MigratingOsprey and SeaChicken have both been on the board for along time and have always been fair to everyone.

You want to say he is wrong because he is a Hag fan, fine. I just don't understand the rancor towards him specifically.

So you agree that the Cards should have reworked this contract prior to the 2007 season? So if you were GM, what contract would you have offered Fitz and his agent?

And I have a great relationship with MO. He doesn't come on this board and tell us how stupid our team is. If you want to make a comment on this thread, you need to read the whole thread and not just assume that the Cardinal fan has to be wrong.

Please don't. I don't want to waste your time. Cause I haven't read more than 2 posts in this thread. I got no beef with a Cards fan who has the Black Knight as his avatar.

MigratingOsprey has been on the board for along time and have always been fair to everyone.

There I fixed that for you. I like MO as much as I can like a Seahawk fan.

Don't try understand. Don't even worry about it. If I get into specifics then I would be calling him out and that is against board rules. It is not worth the effort.

The easiest way to deal with it, is label me the jerkbag in this situation (no, I am serious) and forget about it. I have no problem with that.

And the Seahawks suck, and the contract they give Lofa Tapooie sucks, cause they suck

I read the entire thread, and SeaChicken was for the most part respectful. If you want to get uptight about him liking Lofa over Dansby, well isn't that part of being a fan. He also said that Fitzgerald was probably the best WR in the NFL without any baggage.

And don't make into a Card/Seahag fan thing, we've disagreed on multiple occasions this off season in reguards to Graves.

Not sure what I would have offered. But I would start around 32 mil guaranteed, but over 7 years, and be happy with 6.

And what makes you think Fitz and his agent would have accepted a 6 or 7 year contract? That was the major sticking point in the negotiations that just passed with Fitz only wanting a 3 or 4 year contract. Why do you think he and his agent would have accepted such a long contract then and not now?

And you are willing to give $32 million guaranteed when they only gave $30 million after he reached the incentives?

Fact- we know that Fitz would not settle for a longer contract and insisted on a 4 year contract. Therefore we can assume that that would have been his position in early 2007. So that means that your premise of a six or seven year contract is not a viable one. Any other ideas?

Let's admit it. You don't like Graves or anyone who sticks up for him. Trying to justify sticking up for a opposing team fan over a Cards fan with this kind of nonsense does not become you.

I never claimed to like Graves, though I wouldn't say I dislike him as a person. I just can't stand his prodding, reactive approach to running a franchise. You like him and his style, and thats fine.

Are you suggesting the only reason I'm agreeing with SeaChicken is because he is bashing Graves. I'm not really sure how to comment on that. I'm agreeing with him because I happen to think he is right and as far back as I can remember he's never posted anything rude, or obnoxious unless you consider harmless fan banter instigative (is that even a word). I guess I should just agree with all Cardinal fans and disagree with all Seahawk fans no matter what.

Dude relax it was a joke. But since you got all serious on me is this the same Lofa that had 4 tackles in the last game we played them and 16 total in the 2 game we played them last year? Is this the same Lofa that's team went 1-1 with us last year? Then like I said who cares what the seahags do, it dosen't mean squat until they start playing the games.

Don't get me wrong, I've always like SeaChicken, and pretty much all the other Seahawk fans that hang here. It just didn't all seem worth the energy.
