Moral of the story, NBA refs are horrible but I don't think they're biased. The Cavs are getting shafted late because their play style naturally draws foul calls, but idiot NBA refs call the game completely different late under the inane reasoning that they "don't want to determine the outcome of the game", which frequently results in them determining the outcome of the game. Some guy who has gotten to the line all night long when getting mugged in the lane, goes and attacks the basket, gets mugged as bad as ever and the refs ignore it, because at that point in the game a folding chair... or Kobe Bryant... is required to get a foul called.

i just can't stand for the life of me people who bash on the refs. we've got a couple suns fans who do it here and I let loose on them just like I have been with Russ.

I hear ya, I tend to be a ref critic too, even joining the tin foil hat conspiratorial crowd here and there, so I am going to have to watch myself! ;)

These debates are actually pretty cool. What blows me away is when someone bring one of these up from twenty years ago. I am sure you and Russ will be dusting this one off again in 2035 or so.

there's no irony in that at all... again because I'M NOT A FAN OF EITHER TEAM. Objective observers commenting on the refs doesn't bother me. Fans of the teams playing that bitching about the refs when they have completely rose-colored glasses on is what bothers the hell out of me... because there's no objectivity to their claims for the most part... evidenced by your claim that the Warriors should be up 2-0 if not for the refs.

Can you show me where I said it would be 2-0 if not for the refs?

I said it could easily be 2-0 Warriors, I didn't say because of the refs.

There's a side element to it that I find fascinating. Barkley has said several times a jump shooting team will never win a title. He's given several reasons why, they will have off games, they will fold under pressure. But he's also consistently said in the finals the refs don't call the game the same and if you want to get to the line, you have to be able to score in the paint.

I think it's a fascinating test of are the Warriors good enough, with the Cavs so beat up, to win a title in a series where the refs are in fact letting them play? Can they make enough jumpshots to overcome it, through 2 games it's hard to say they have not shot very well, due both to defense and missing shots.

There was a stretch in game 2 in the 4th quarter where both Curry and Thompson had 2 (each) wide open 3's and missed all 4 of them. That's not something that happened very often during the season, was that pressure, or just sometimes you miss, not enough games yet to be sure.

Hey I'm still mad at Ricky Sobers from 1976!

Does anyone else feel like these two teams are not as high of quality as we have had in the past? As far as finals matchups go. I mean is either of these teams going to go down as an all time great?

Honest question. I mean obviously Lebron and Curry are great, but the overall quality of basketball, I feel like we have seen much higher levels of play in the finals.

Dellavedova and Green living up to their reps. Green with a hard screen on Delly, he intentionally trips Green, and then Green tries to trip him as they're both getting up.

Green certainly got the message to play more physical. 2 very hard but legal screens already.

Boy is Mozgov making himself some cash, he's much better than I realized, very good hands

Man that's tough defense.

Kerr is being seriously outcoached again tonight. every move Blatt makes works, puts in Jones, they have Ezeli on him hits the 3. Kerr goes small, Blatt goes big and pulverizes him inside.

Warriors bigs are killing them, when they double Curry the bigs are looking to catch the ball and pass not score, when they do go in they take a soft runner or try and draw a foul. Iggy is the only guy attacking the rim and even he has settled for too many 3's.

I gotta believe the Warriors will shoot better eventually but so much of it is defense right now.

I did love the Delly montage, in about 5 plays he hit Curry in the face with an arm as he tried to run a cut, tried to trip him, and then "fell" back into Curry nearly knocking him down,. That one got Curry mad enough he shoved Delly down the other end. BUt you gotta hand it to him, Curry has been unable to score on him again.

Rodman was piece of work, was he not. It always amazed me what the refs let him get away with. It looks lke he fouls Malone at least four time in this five second sequence. I used to say that when Dennis hit the deck you knew he was flopping because he's impossible to knock down

He needs to stop shooting

The scary thing is it got even worse after Kerr finally took him out. Barnes is a nice kid but LeBron doesn't have to guard anybody when he's in and if he can't make the wide open shots, he has to be on the bench.

Pathetic 3rd quarter effort, they just have to be tougher.

what LeBron is doing with this pile of drek is nothing short of miraculous.

that said, looks like Steph found his shot. I'm thinking the Warriors win Game 4 setting up an epic swing Game 5.

i've used the word epic a lot in this thread.

this is insane. no lead is seemingly ever safe for the Cavs with Stef on the floor.
