When this story first broke Peter King had a source that said the NFL had seen the original elevator video. Although he never got the NFL to confirm that. Now the NFL is saying they never saw this video. I'm calling BS on the NFL. Plus I believe that the Raven brass probably saw this video as well.

He may get the "soap in the sock" beating in the locker room. If not, he should!

On the other hand, you could see her antagonizing him when she was walking to the elevator and still on his case in the elevator. No it is never right to hit a woman or anyone for that matter who is only taunting you with words. But most people do have a breaking point. She obviously knows what his is now.

He is waiting for her. He first yells or spits at her.

Every even small aggressive reaction she makes is in response to his aggressive action.

He walks into the elevator and then crowds her in the corner. He then pushes or punches her there.

He is TOTALLY at fault here. Her greatest fault is having anything to do with the loser to begin with. I am not saying that the woman is always right, sometimes they do provoke. But this video shows none of that.

Translation: Well, she had it coming. Not that it's a good thing--but just sayin'...

The douchery of some people never ceases to amaze me.

IMO, Her greatest fault is marrying him after and doing her best to protect him from the repercussions.

But that being said, I am not in her shoes, so I can never blame the victim, even in this regard.

This is new information and in essence the NFL is a private corporation so the criminal or civil standard doesn't have to be met. I doubt there is any double jeopardy protection here. It's like firing with cause after someone has been suspended because you have determined there was more to the story.

Adam Schefter says double jeopardy is included in the terms of the CBA. Not sure if they league could increase the suspension, even if they wanted to.

On NFL mobile too! Good for them! Saved the League from itself! Now who picks him up? Sadly someone might...

I would doubt anyone would take that chance with signing him. Well, I sure hope not

If this marriage was to protect the finances now that he has been released they both might have second thoughts about the relationship. I might not want to be around either one of them today.

Behind you
why the release now

were they unable to put two and two together with the previous video!!?!

come on man - any additional outrage from any person who saw the first video is a sign of ignorance. We KNEW what took place...why does seeing it change anything. To me it's a sign of ignorance to now be more upset than previously...just shows you can't put two and two together.

Piling it on is what some do best.

NFL failed on his punishment...but that doesn't mean he should have to face double jeopardy.

I in NO way condone what he did, but I was smart enough at the time to KNOW what he had done in the elevator that the new video only confirms what was previously thought to had taken place. I was upset with him then and believed he deserved going to jail for some time along with a 4-6 game suspension.

Harbaugh is a man of his words. Said domestic violence is unforgivable and no tolerance.

Looking for the guys who defend Domestic violence. What's the line they were selling? Men are victims? What happens in another mans house aint my business even if he's beating the crap out of his wife? Poor Ray Rice was just defending himself? I've seen a lot of excuses for Domestic Violence made on here by a select few posters over the past few weeks.

this is the lamest post in the history of the site.

I'm telling you dude, there is a DISTURBING amount of women haters in this world. People are watching this video and still blaming the woman. Yeah Ray Rice sure looked like his life was in danger there. He was totally justified in hitting her once, then hitting her again knocking her out, watching her hit her head on the rail, dragging her halfway out of the elevator then dropping her on her face. Poor guy, is he ok?

Indefensible. Anyone who can watch that video and still defend Ray needs to go see a therapist about their issues with women...

As soon as it became common knowledge that he knocked her unconscious & dragged he through the elevator doors, he should have been canned. He should see jail time.

I think everyone deserves a second chance. The problem was his initial suspension was laughable. Rice did a Horrible thing but I hope he can learn from it. I also hope that his wife and him can work things out.

He will be back in the league at some point.
