Came up on the Bronco board, I'd joked before about Jake and Bailey being on the same wavelength, seems not only do several Bronco fans think playing Bailey some at WR makes sense, apparently Bailey has asked to do it, and Shanahan appears to be willing to do so.

What do people think? I just think with his money it's just asking for a Sehorn tearing his knee up on a KO return type situation. Yes you want your best players on the field but he's not a WR, and the NFL is not college, it's the wrong place to be experimenting IMHO.

What do you think, if we'd have traded for Champ would people want him playing WR for us?

He's one of the top three CBs in the league. There is NO substitute for that. Even if he did well at being a WR he is an incredible CB so why would you trade the two? And why would you pay him that much to be a decent WR?

I also agree that I would keep him as far away from special teams as possible. I hated seeing Quan returning punts because I expected an injury any time.

I don't even want the top players returning kicks or punts no matter what the positive outcome is. You cannot avoid injuries but every additional play is one play closer. You play the guy at the position he excels at and leave it at that.

If Bailey was here I would be completely against him playing WR.

To clarify he wants to play SOME at WR, they're not moving him from CB, just thinking about playing him some on offense TOO.

Same thing with Quan, we talked about that last year on this board who wants to see Quan getting banged around returning punts?

Seeing what Roy Williams did to our WR's last year, I sure wouldn't want to pay a guy like Bailey all that money and then watch him get lit up by a SS. It's one thing to put a Warren Sapp in at TE on goalline situations, not a whole lot of exposure to hits, but you play a guy like Champ at WR you take a risk.
