No moreso than Fitz or Boldin benefitted from eachother.
I'm not going to deny that Housh benefitted from Ocho Stinko, but Housh is a damn good WR in his own right. His route running skills and hands are far superior to Johnson's and he's in his own elite class in both of those skill sets.
He definitely can be a #1 target. The only downside on him is his speed, which I find to be overrated as **** at the WR spot anyhow. He may not win any foot races, but he's capable of breaking defenders and taking it to the house each time he touches the football. My view, if you are able to produce in the NFL, especially at a high level like Housh has, you've got more than enough speed.
Disagree completely. Housh is a possession reciever nothing more nothing less. That's why he was upset about not having as many suitors as he expected.
Lets look at facts. TJ was 6th in the league with 92 receptions last year but his yards per catch was terrible at 9.8 per reception.
For comparison Fitz had 14.9 and Steve Breaston had 13.1.
Tight ends had more yards per reception like Tony Gonzalez with 11.0 or Jason Witten with 11.8 per catch.
Calvin Johnson had 17.1 and Steve Smith had 18.2 per catch.
We have to work our way down the list of reception leaders to number 33 to find someone with a lower yards per reception and that is a running back. Matt Forte at #33 had a 7.6 yards per reception average.
Will he help Seattle? Sure but lets not make more out of it than what it is. He can help move the chains but he is definitly not a #1 receiver and he aint taken it to the house with that 9.8 average and he only had 4 TDs last season.
