how many millions of dollars did Marion lose by rejecting Boston's contract extension in the proposed KG deal that he blocked two summers ago? He's now averaging 10.4 ppg, 8.6 rbs on 39% shooting. Has anyone even seen a highlight of him since he went to the Heat?

Thank you one more time Shawn for blocking what would undoubtedly have given us an unstoppable team and for convincing yourself that you were a MAX player... moron.

His agent did not do him any service either. He might have cost the Suns a championship to boot. It would have been something to see what a Nash, Amare, KG would have performed like.

In a van...down by the river.
Marion's agent needs to find a way to get him to NY,otherwise his lack of playmaking skills like dribbling & creating shots will leave him in anonymity in most NBA systems IMO. His skills as a one on one defensive stopper and athleticism are valuable...but thats not gonna get him on any ESPN highlight reels.....or MAX deals.

i believe the only people who believe he's got skills as a one on one defensive stopper are people who are suns fans. the coaches sure as hell didn't think he was one as he never even sniffed a 2nd team all-nba defensive squad. and his athleticism will only erode from here on in.

The Suns never would have won a title with KG anyway. All some other team would have to do is knock Nash to the floor and we'd lose our composure and it would be game over.

So far Shaq is outplaying him. We also got rid of Banks' deadweight contract. Maybe its a new coach. Marion is a god player but never a superstar

This team didn't have a shot as long as D'Antoni was coach here. KG would not have helped us win a title. We still wouldn't have played our bench or play enough defense to sniff a title.

The Heat still have no presence in the middle which means teams are guarding the interior and it doesn't leave very many opportunities for Marion to do what he does best offensively...slash to the basket.

Marion's an idiot for sure but if that guy was on a team with a low post presence, he is the Marion of old. Also, lets point out that Marion is on a team giving up over 50% shooting at EVERY SINGLE POSITION this year according to 82games.com.

That team is playing ZERO defense at every single position which tells me the entire team is struggling defensively....not just Marion.

Really.....you Marion haters need to get over it.

Get off it already.

you know, I don't tell you to shut up when you say something I disagree with. I'd appreciate the same from you. It's a new season, Marion's numbers are even worse and it's a topic of conversation. if you don't want to contribute to the thread okay, but there's no need for the above.

and steel, we may not have won a title last year with DA as a coach (although I think that's incredibly dubious considering we probably would have been the team that actually got PJ Brown and Cassel considering how good we would have been ala the Celts), but even if we didn't, DA would have been fired and someone else could have come in and won it this year with that same talent. it's not a matter of being a marion "hater". it's just realism and I'm glad realism is slapping him silly right now.

How can you honestly say bringing in a guy who might possibly be the best defensive player in the league wouldn't have an affect on the rest of the team? D'Antoni or no D'Antoni.

I will always wonder if the Suns could have traded Marion and kept JJ. JJ was clearly the more versatile player. This would have satiated JJ's desire to be higher up on the ladder.

Because it wouldn't be enough. KG had a career before he got to the Celtics and some of those T-Wolves teams were horrible. Just because you have KG doesn't mean your team is going to win a title. I am not saying that KG could not have made the team better but he would have struggled just like Shaq IMO to get used to our system.

Not to mention that I am sure D'Antoni would have schemed KG's effectiveness out of him on the defensive end as well. Don't get me wrong. I would LOVE to have the guy in uniform this year. This year would have made more of a difference.:D

D'Antoni would've had KG camping out in the corner shooting 3's and guarding Tony Parker.
