That was bad. Just bad. 10 of 33 for 86 yards 0 TD 3 INT QB rating of 2 for the game. He was so bad that Jason Campbell got into the game.
Andy Dalton is basically a 07'-13' version of Carson Palmer. The Bengals have a thing for mediocre QB's.

Could not be farther from the truth, Palmer has a way stronger arm than Dalton and I would not call Carson mediocre. Carson is good, just not great... till he wins us this Super Bowl baby!
I might be totally off base here but I remember Palmer starting to get really good those years with Cincy. I feel that the injury he sustained in the playoffs against the Steelers that one year really set him back years possible.
Kitna is a good comparison for Dalton. He'll put up some big numbers every now and then but he's not good enough to win with. That was an even worse deliberate go for the knees than the one to Campbell this year IMO. Totally cheap shot and really devastating to CP.
But, on topic, Dalton is one of those "teasers" that are fool's gold. Kyle Orton/John Kitna-type of QB that just eventually breaks everyone's heart.
His numbers over the start of his career are damn near identical to Peyton Mannings.
The same things are gonna be said about Scam Newton once the Panthers back the Brinks truck up to his garage & pay him as well. Better than average QB throwing the rock & if he wasn't a threat in the run game would be an afterthought.
He had one bad game...let it go
He won the AFC North twice when Pitt owned it.
Dalton is one heck of a QB - yea he had a bad night...
Josh McClown had a few good games...Tampa over reacted there and gave him $$$
talk about over reaction...please Dalton is a good QB
The title of this thread is annoying because it doesn't reflect the reality of Dalton's extension (or Kaepernick's, for that matter). The Bengals essentially gave Dalton a 2-year, $25M extension with five additional team option years and some incentives that he's probably not going to make.
Dalton got the deal that we're hoping Carson Palmer is going to sign, but I'm starting to wonder if Palmer isn't going to be able to get a 3-year, $45M contract with $30M guaranteed.
This is utter nonsense. Newton is dominating in the running game and is a solid and developing passer who is turning Kelvin Benjamin into the OROY front-runner.
"Dominating" is not the word I would use for a QB who's completing 57% of his passes, 8 TDs, and has only completed 36 passes in his past 3 games. In almost every passing statistical category, he's actually regressing. he'll always be a very good running QB, but he's a mediocre at best thrower.
