He would need to be part of the package because of salaries.that would likely mean draymond is gone - he and kd don't exchange christmas cards last i heard

If James Jones continues to be making the decisions, I fully expect the Suns to immediately turn around after that KD trade and send whatever draft capital they have accumulated, plus Kuminga and Dunn, to the Clippers for Kawhi Leonard.Being floated KD for Kuminga and Draymond.
I swear to God James Jones if your putting guys names out there you better pull the damn trigger all that does is lead to unhappy players
Windy just said KD is on the table
Grain of salt Im having huge wifi issues due to a power failure here but came across my phone warriors favorite to get KD, Kuminga in the deal but no other names.
Came across my FB feed just says Warriors are favorite doesn't even name names
Wiggins and Green would almost work perfectly in a trade for Durant.
Not sure why GSW would do this though. Why trade for Durant if you're not going to pair him with Steph & Draymond?Wiggins and Green would almost work perfectly in a trade for Durant.
He brutalized Ayton in that first round in 22. But I feel like he’s just as bad defensively as Nurk. For sure better in the post on offense than Nurk though.
I’d be thrilled with a swap but I don’t think sending sending them picks to make it work helps our outlook at all.
Wiggins, Kuminga, and Schroeder work for salary matching. Ideally there would be a third team to take Schroeder but he's expiring so no real issue.

Geez, trading Durant for Butler (and some picks) would be the most stupid thing even at Suns' standards. Here are a couple of tweets from Gambo.

Durant is a better player and s our only potent frontcourt player while Butler would just create even bigger logjam at the wings.
Since our 1st rounders are gone, this would be a surefire recipe for as long and as painful rebuilding as possible.

I think that's worth exploring. Butler has a fire that KD doesn't and regardless of which position KD is labeled as, he's not a frontcourt player that battles for rebounds, fights in the paint, or does much of anything typical frontcourt players do.
KD might be a better individual talent but Butler, when focused, is a much better leader. That's what this team needs. As long as we don't lose draft picks, I'd not only welcome the swap but would be happy to see it.
I'm not saying this trade will lead to a championship but it moves us closer to watchable on a regular basis.
Yes, he is not a typical frontcourt player but still is our best due to his height and shot-blocking ability. That's why he is the Suns' starting PF. He would be traded for a SF in Butler.
BTW, Butler recently used his "fire" to destroy the Heat as much as possible because they were not willing to meet his extension demands. Not a good sign at all.
Yes, this trade will nullify the chanches to a championship (which were very limited anyway) while creates a logjam at the wings while losing ourt starting PF and quite possibly taking over a bigger headcase than Durant is.
Butler has played a lot of PF in Miami. He's no more a true PF than KD but he's a better one on one defender who doesn't need to rely on his length to swat shots because he doesn't let people by him. Butler next to Dunn in the frontcourt would be fine. Butler will at least battle for rebounds.
I can easily see it being worse and I hope, I will be proven wrong, if that happens. We have no chance at a championship as constructed. KD is quickly leading us to the lottery. It was a mistake to trade for him. I'm not saying Butler will perform better but I can't see it being worse.
Yes, he was an emergency PF sometimes, but was even less qualified to do so as Durant is. Dunn and Butler as a F combo is tough but I'm not convinced at all that Butler's main motivation of getting traded to Phoenix is playing lockdown-defense. Actually probably the opposte.

YuckWiggins and Green would almost work perfectly in a trade for Durant.
He was much more than their emergency PF. He played PF 83% of the time when they went to the finals 2 years back. 74% last year and 75% this year. He's always been an excellent defender. He has more steals than fouls throughout his career, 1350 steals to 1167 fouls. That's amazing for a guy who has been a starter virtually his entire career. You need to watch him to see his impact but at the same time statistically he averages within 1 rebound of Durant here so I don't see us losing anything except maybe the option of using KD as a small ball C, which hasn't been that successful anyways.
Time will tell. We may be debating for no reason. Personally, I like Butler for the Suns more than KD. You can like KD more. Until we see it play out though neither of us is right or wrong and we each have our preferences. Another reason I like Butler more though is how Booker follows the lead of the elder statesman here. He did under Paul and has under KD. If Booker can sort of harness Butler's competitive edge then this team could be a dark horse candidate to make some noise.
Here is info on where Butler plays, according to BBRef. They're pretty accurate in their assessment and you can look at where they place certain Suns players to see that.
