I was thinking the same thing when I read his first post. The incorrectly spelled words and the love affair with the World Champion Arizona Rattlers is a tale tale sign.

I have no idea if this guy is NEM or not, but I was wondering. Late at night I sometimes see this commercial for some sports hall of fame that I never heard of before, and the ad says come down and say hi to mike. And it's some older guy who says hi. Is that NEM?

Nem is a wannabe, an old fart that never was. A guy born on L.I. but wishing he was born in Mass. even fakes the accent on local radio.

He is one fried clam from the BIG one. And likes to annoy Cardinals fans because after triple bi-pass he has no heart left.

He owes me a beer but I would be embarassed to be seen with him.

A weasel, ********, egomaniac, moron.

Close?

And he has a secret love for Arena Football. Even came out predicting Shredick Bonner would beat out Plummer.

He has long gray, whiteish looking hair that's combed back in the commercial. I'd guess he's in his mid 50's. I think they call him Uncle Mike on the commercial. I can't remember the name of the place. It's some local thing. I'm not sure if it's half hall of fame half bar, or what it is.

Also, what was the name of that one Packer Bar you said I should visit? I forgot. It's not the Cave Creek one, but the one in Phoenix. Thanks.

There's a Packer bar on 16th Street, south of Indian School Rd., I believe. At least, there used to be one there.

Funny Ed didn't list the contracts won by "liberals". Such as the 600 million dollar contract to Sen. Fienstein's husbands company. The left is just as corrupt as the right. Please explain how totalitarianism(extreme left) is any different from facism(extreme right)? This current "anti-bush" movement amuses me though. As if somehow corruption started with Bush. Don't worry you will get to vote for the Kerry/Sharpton ticket soon enough Ed. :D

So don't let a few ruin your enjoyment.

It, obviously, is a west coast thing. The game, itself, is the least important thing. Being seen there and being able to talk about it on the golf course the next morning is much more important.

That's something NEM always talks about.....how stupid everyone is on the west coast.

Then, I guess, what you are saying is that CatBoxBackFan is really this NEM person? He seems to really hate those fans on the west coast.

At first, I thought you were delivering a comment advocating balance. But then I realized that all you were doing was making excuses for the Bush administration by saying "the other guys do it too."

I want to weigh in with a couple of points -

1. Not only should dissent be tolerated in a democracy, it should be welcomed and celebrated.

2. The very fact that various facets of the Iraqui issue are being expressed here is a healthy thing - at least the folks on this bb are attempting to use their brains. (Heckuva lot better than no thinking and no debate).

I'm outtahere.

Ok, I tried to stay away from this political business, but people had to keep bringing it back...

All of this egregious corruption exists everywhere in country, at every level of government, in every strata of society. Look around you and you will see it.

Kudos on all of your great discoveries concerning this kind of "Good Ol' Boys" networking.

The real question is: what are you going to do about it?

Until that question can be answered, it is all a moot point.

Hey, I didn't "bump" this thread. In fact I was sorry I ever made it!

What are we going to do about corruption? The only thing we can do: nothing.

I never called you out Ed; my post was intended for everyone. It just seems like every few days, this thread creeps back up to the top of the list. I just get tired of pointless bickering.

Now if some positive solutions were to arise out of this "debate", then we'd be making some progress...as opposed to congress!

Well, most people find it more convenient to respond to allegations of republican corruption with "WELL DEMOCRATS DO IT TOO!" which is not only blindingly obvious but totally beside the point.

This is not a football game, Team A versus Team B. Unfortunately most people see it that way and instead of thinking about or addressing the issue, they simply insult the "other team" and defend their own.

Issues like this are everyone's concern, it's not a "democrat vs republican" issue. Pointing out that there are two wrongs certainly makes no rights.

Well then we are in agreement. Any issue like this is everybody's problem. 9 out of 10 post in this thread (and those like it) are "you suck" and "no you suck" type of posts. This accomplishes nothing. if this type of discussion is to have any sort of positive effect on anyone beyond being a place to "vent", then solutions need to be discussed.

That's the only point I'm trying to make.

ps: I'd also like to add that Cheesebeef is a jackass!

You ever known an alcoholic? Or a drug abuser?

What's the first thing they tell an alcoholic in 12 step? "You are the only one that can cure yourself, and you can't fix the problem if you refuse to admit there is a problem".

That's politics in a nutshell in this country. How can we begin to solve anything if 80% of the population insists that nothing is wrong? Or simply enjoys bickering?

If you look back over this thread, there are a number of posts that seem to indicate that this kind of corruption is perfectly acceptable and beneficial. That's what scares me.

I think we're in total agreement. I'm not touching the 12-Step-Process though, it is waaaaaaaaaaaay to passionate of a subject!
