the NFL is hard. Really hard.

Nate Hackett had what looked like a really good HC resume with the added bonus of an enthusiastic recommendation by Aaron Rodgers. you can look at his wiki -- its pretty solid in terms of success at multiple stops and elevating offensive play --https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathaniel_Hackett

Russell Wilson we know about. Oh by the way -- did everything this offseason we wanted Kyler to do in terms of working out with his WRs, etc. He got glowing reviews from teammates on his leadership, what a great dude he is, etc

The combo of a vet QB with a very good offensive mind has resulted in................ what we saw last night.

(BTW: I could do a similar thing on the Colts. I thought Matt Ryan with the Colts running game and defense was going to be no worse than a 9 win team. Maybe they still will be, but good grief).

I still think Denver will come good.

As @football karma said above. Football is hard. Complete new staff. Lot's of changes on the team. Even new owners.

It takes time for an offense to gel.

It's pretty bad right now but I'd be surprised if Russ is cooked. His arm looks fine, it's just not falling into place mentally.

I thought his Arm was weak last night based on how he lacked the zip on the interception to Gilmore.

He's been listed with a sore shoulder for the last 3 weeks and skipping practice days so my guess is dead arm.

I watched Orlovsky today diagram the play I mentioned in the first half last night where Jeudy is 10 yards behind the defense and Wilson doesn't see. First off it's 5 not 10, second they froze the point where Jeudy is breaking free and Wilson is looking right there. Orlovsky said you have to realize 50-60 yard balls are thrown when the WR is 30 yards downfield the guy goes another 20 yards or more while the ball is in the air. Russell Wilson did that better than anybody in the NFL for much of his career put the ball out in front with arc and let Lockett or Metcalf etc run under it. But on this play says Orlovsky, he looked, saw where Jeudy was and "IMO" decided I don't think I can get the ball there so he checked down. If that's true it's huge it says as good a deep ball thrower as there was for 10 years, doesn't trust his arm is strong enough to hit a guy 50 yards downfield.

He also said on the overthrow of Jeudy on the corner route from the slot the reason it's overthrown is Wilson didn't put any arc on it which is completely atypical of his career and again makes you wonder does he not trust his arm to make that throw with arc so he threw it on a line and overthrew it?

Not that Orlovsky is QB Jesus or something but it was interesting, he said I don't think Wilson didn't see him I think he didn't trust his arm and he's never had that before

Oh no… I said one of the worst.

That game was def in my head when I wrote that.

Same with the 6-6 OT barnburner against Seattle when we missed a 20 yard FG in OT to win it… then Seattle missed a 34 yard FG to win at the end of OT.
That's the one I was thinking of.

How many of you know Russell Wilson has an office ( yes , an office ) in the Broncos stadium..

That chunky boy is weird as heck.
I did. It is talked about on Denver radio all the time.

IMO, that one was more of a placement issue. If he leads the receiver, Gilmore doesn't catch up to it and is a TD.

Denver’s Coach has made Kliff look like Don Shula though. Lol. Dude tried to kick a 64 yard FG in last seconds tha. Yesterday passed 20 yards down field up 3 closing minutes. This board would be in suicide watch of that was us.

This is one I really don't blame Hackett on, other than purposely not trying to get more yards to make it closer. Hackett asked McManus what his range was before the game and McManus said 64. It's the subsequent ones that are baffling.

Great finish to the early game

Giants beat Packers in London 27-22
After the Giants took that safety and kicked to the Pack I thought for sure Rodger was going to pull off another miraculous Hail Mary. Its probably what the NFL was hoping for. But kudos to the Giants. Brian Dabol might be the real deal after all.
