It's his reads under pressure right now which he needs to correct or is our OC competent enough to provide him with adequate ones with our OL situation. I say this because he almost had to throw a majority of them high because if he would have thrown them lower they would have been picked off

Any stats on some of the other rookie QB's?

I am sure many of them have had multiple TD games, etc.

Not seeing much progress with Rosen even when he is given time by the OL.

The game should slow down for him at some point, right?
The browns qb matched p Manning and Russell Wilson's rookie season td record

Rosen is 21. Withstood the worst OL in the NFL. Never complained and gutted it out till the end. Combine this with the near worst offensive talent around him with unimaginative coaches, how in the world does Rosen not deserve a mulligan?

Rosen may or may not the QBOTF. Sure as heck he deserves 2019 with overall better cast around him. If Rosen's stats at end of 2019 are what they are today, yeah, Cardinals likely got a problem.

I can say with confidence that none of the other first round rookie QBs would’ve had more success in Arizona. How would Baker Mayfield respond to the perpetual ineptitude of the coaches, coordinators, and players?

Baker took a team that had a combined 3 wins the previous 35 games and went 6-6 ‍♂️. Cleveland went from the laughing stock of the NFL to some sort of relevance.

More like overreaction. The kid is 21 and has had horrible coaching. Yeah he's thrown off his back foot quite a bit, which is actually correctable as soon as he has some confidence in his protection. Most of his choices have been right, even when he's overthrown the ball a bit, so it's not a decision-making problem.

I'm not worried, he can make all the throws and just needs solid coaching. Give him 2-3 years and he'll be a top 10 qb.

Well they did get rid of a huge problem. Not taking anything away from Baker, though.

The coaching and talent on that team, especially on the line, is significantly better than what’s in Arizona. Freddie Kitchens is getting hype as a potential HC candidate for good reason

There leading rusher is a rookie. Besides Landry they have rookies at WR. Their O-line gave up 8 fewer sacks on the season.

On D Myles Garrett is good, but CJ is better. Their LBs are much better than ours, but their secondary has nothing near the talent PP21 is.

Coaching I agree they have the upper hand in because who doesn’t compared to us, but they were a joke of a franchise and Baker came in and made them relevant while improving each week. I’m not writing Rosen off, but to say I’m disappointed in his play is an understatement. I hope I’m being too hard on the rookie with minimal help, but right now I see another Blaine Gabbert.

I think these last few games and the hits he has taken have been really damaging to Rosen's timing.

Watching the game today I really thought he was throwing to spots but not waiting for the play to develop fully, hence high and long.

It's tough watch to someone not improve this season but I am going to wait another year before I form a full opinion.

Rosen has shown he is tough enough. I am concerned with the ball security, high throws and lack of touch on short passes. I am hopeful but not certain he is the guy. He will get every chance to prove he is.

Mayfield would have blown his top if he were put in Rosen’s situation this season.

So overthrosen had moxie and took sacks like a man. So did Max Hall.

Max Hall also had Whiz. None of the staff on this team can hold the Whiz's jock strap on his worst day. Until Rosen at-least gets a coach of Whiz's caliber, it is unfair to write off Rosen without affording him benefit of doubt.

even some qbs can chnage the look of their line with their quick reads and ball releasing

This is what I have been talking about the last three weeks or so. The QB has way more control of the game then many understand. There is a reason QBs call out the MIKE and are scanning the field pointing out where defenders are. I would love to have a film session with Romo, Warner, Chucky, and let them tell me what they're seeing and tell me Rosen is seeing then field correctly, making the right calls, and making the right read. From my "JOEFAN" perspective, I have not seen JR acknowledge the blitz and throw right at it in weeks. In fact like today I have seen him watching the rush instead of keeping his head up field, and damn near wet himself, and cough up the ball before he was ever touched.

yeah... everyone knows I wanted Chosen to succeed more than anyone, but man... everything since that one last drive against GB has been REALLY rough to watch. The lack of growth over the course of the season has me leery going into next year, but he gets next year, hopefully surrounded by at the very worst competency, until I start saying he ain't making it into Airplane's leaflet of Famous Jewish Sports Legends.

Yep.

The ineptitude of the Oline, lack of playmakers, coaching & scheme hindered & killed his no development no doubt. Can he get that part back or is he just not good enough?

Exactly why I wanted to trade the farm for Baker the Touchdown Maker:mrgreen: or Watson

He stares down receivers when he has time and always makes a crappy throw. Hopefully this can be fixed

Watching Josh Allen and Rosen back to back did not inspire a lot of confidence. Both faced line breakdowns all day and missed some open receivers when they did have time, but Allen did WAY more to elevate his team. Rosen looked downright scared out there at times.

However, the usual disclaimers apply. We don't even have a QB coach on staff. They just never bothered to fill the position after firing McCoy and promoting Leftwich. That seems unheard of with an alleged QBOTF getting his first starts. I'm also not sure that I've ever seen Wilks and Rosen speak to each other on the sidelines, which seems equally as odd. All of the dysfunction has become tough to even comprehend.

I feel bad for Josh. His situation is, by far, the worst of all of the rookie QBs. Possibly worse than any QB picked in the top 10 this decade. And I feel bad for us. We've been waiting since Leinart for another shot at a young franchise QB. To see Rosen regress in the midst of such extreme organizational dysfunction brings back way too many Same ol' Cards memories. But looking back on this nightmare of a season objectively, it's honestly tough for me to see Rosen as the type of QB who can lead a team to a SB. It may all change next year with more competent people around him, and I sincerely hope it does, but as of Week 17 of his rookie year, I just don't see enough of the elements he would need to put together to become a winning NFL QB.
