Totally agree.

If we have to change holders maybe St. Pierre could hold?

I have wondered about that myself, but that situation could get knocked down due to the "3rd QB Rule" which states something to the effect that once a 3rd QB enters a game prior to the 4th quarter, the 1st and 2nd QBs are no longer eligible to return to the game.

Someone who knows more about the rule could probably explain it better...

You mean if the 3rd QB enters in as a holder the 2nd string QB can't come in the game?! That makes no sense.

Here we go...

From NFL.com:

NFL'S "third-quarterback" rule -- sometimes misunderstood:
Seventeen years ago (1991) the third-quarterback rule was instituted to enable teams to have an emergency quarterback available who was not on the 45-man game-day active roster, since many teams, for strategic purposes, only carried two quarterbacks on their game-day roster.
Everybody thinks they understand the NFL's "third-quarterback" rule. But do they?
The rule states that if a third quarterback is inserted before the fourth quarter, a team's first two quarterbacks cannot be used in the game at any position.
Another aspect of the rule is sometimes misunderstood. It is a coach's decision as to whether a third quarterback will be used.
The active quarterbacks do not have to be injured for a team to use its third quarterback.

Ethx,

I never knew that rule. So if he holds on a field goal then he has to play QB even if he wasn't in at QB?

Okay then how about one of the WRs that has good hands or is able to throw in case of a fake? There has to be someone else that could hold.

I think the reason they have the punter be the holder is it doesn't take a player away from the other units. If they use Morey or Q that limits their practice time with the offense and special teams.
