More like too bad the idiotic Cardinal organization couldn't comprehend how to draft players who actually fit into the team's scheme.

good point, and it actually makes me optimistic, because we now have a coach who knows what he wants, and will not be influenced by anyone. you better believe we will take players that make sense this year. and if we dont? then i give up but i think we will!

Anybody worried that LaBoy's agent sees this and ups the price on Travis?

Good luck with that, Jets. How quickly everyone forgets the 4 years he was complete dog meat here. He was a great player to have at last year's salary and a complete joke at $7 million per year.

Pass.

The ONLY thing that makes this a contract I wouldn't have wanted for him is that he gets 26 million in the first three seasons. It's a heavily frontloaded contract, or at least appears to be. If it was a backloaded deal, I'd be ripping the Cards right now for not matching it.

Now I think the Cards organization did the right thing. They should have locked him up prior to free agency, but no way should they have paid him $42M over 6 season.

yeah-- but can you imagine the reaction if the Cards gave him (lets say)
a 6 year, $36 mm deal with $17 mm bonus? It looks like a bargain now.

Seriously.. what are the chances that Calvin Pace... THE Calvin Pace lives up to a 6 year 42 million dollar offer??

I mean.. this has to be up there with paying Adona Foyle 9 million a year right....

ITs AWESOME for Pace, but I just don't see how the hell Pace can live up to being one of the highest paid LBs in history, when last year he was arguably our 3rd best LB....

UNBELIEVABLE
How do you figure that?????

They tried and he declined because he wanted to test the FA market...

I'm so glad we renegotiated Berry to an extremely cap friendly number.

I'd gladly take Berry at $1.5M this year over Pace at $7M a year.

Pace has potential but that amount of money is just crazy!!!!

Sounds great but according to reports he didn't want to sign.

1. Dansby

Arguement here is:

2. Hayes
3. Pace
Check the stats. Pace was better than both of them. I am sure Dansby may have had the best stats had he played the whole year, but he didn't. If anything, that should say more about Pace being able to stay healthy for 16 games.

I love how everyone calls Pace a contract player yet no one mentions that Dansby didn't even work out in the offseason until last year.

Pace becomes one of the all time highest paid LB's and i'll bet not once in 5 years did an OC ever mutter ,"we have to account for #97", while game planning for the Cards. Unless,of course, you go back to Simeon Rice days.

Here is the only thing I can figure--

The Cards played him on the strong side, which is ordinarily the offense's right side.

Maybe the Jets figure if they move him to the weakside, or the offense's left -- he becomes the second coming of Lawrence Taylor.

The difficulty is that at least on passing downs, the Cardinals tried that a couple times -- Pace's rookie year and 2006 after Berry went down -- and it just wasnt impactful.
