Banks gets the game ball from me. He was average in this 1st half min. so that some of us already predicted that he would sit for the rest of the game. Then, perhaps Nash really couldn't get it going middle in the 3rd. Banks came in late in the 3rd and stopped JT, just disrupted their offensive flow in general. On offense, he made the right decisions most of the time though his 3s were not falling.

LB and Bell stepped up big. Bell was on adrenaline or something late in the game. Diaw and Marion were both great all game. And Amare is clutch. Even though he missed a couple shots minutes earlier against Foster, he nailed that tying fallaway. He has the firmest hands in NBA. When he catches the ball in the paint, it's almost over.

Our problem is that we were run to ground while Nash was on the court. They succeeded with Suns style ball, until Nash sat and we tightened up defense. Marion's defense on JT was not bad at lall. JT lost the game for them with his one-on-ones in the OT.

Is Nash going to play tomorrow against Utah? We are going to need him for tomorrow's game against Utah.

Heard Nash isn't scheduled to make the trip tonight.

Maybe that's not so bad. He gotta get healthy first. He has not really playing well for a long stretch already. With Nash out, we can put Banks on Williams a lot more. And let's see what we can do there, relying on our defense for a change.

Tinsley shot 3/15 in the 4th quarter and OT. You saying Tinsely was easily scoring on Marion is downright laughable.

Well, when you stop laughing, you can PM me your credit card information and I'll charge you for the lesson in basketball knowledge I'm about to give you.

Here goes: statistics are only a small part of the story. When Marion was guarding Tinsley, Tinsley got to the spot on the floor that he wanted and took a shot. He happened to miss a lot of the shots that he took, but that is because Jamal Tinsley isn't a very good basketball player. Even so, if you had watched the game closely and with a slightly keener basketball eye, you would have been able to see that Tinsley took shots that you would, as a Pacers fan, want him to take. Many times in the fourth quarter alone, Tinsley drove into the lane, turned his body into Marion, bumped Marion off balance, and shot a little jump hook or layup in the paint. As a Suns fan, you don't want an NBA player getting that type of shot if you expect to win the game. Tinsley missed. Most times, however, he is likely to make those shots. And in those instances, I suspect, you won't be laughing quite as hard.

anytime we shoot "poor" from the f/t line. we seem to make the game harder.

like against the hornets game, that was about 2 games ago. we lost that one.

but today were able to pull it out.

LMAO at Tinsley. Did anyone else on the Pacers get a single FGA in overtime? He singlehandedly won the game for the Suns.

Really? Many times in the 4th quarter, huh? Cuz according to the shot chart JT only had two shots inside 15 feet in the 4th; a 10 footer and an 11 footer. Both missed. You truely schooled me. :bigyawn:

That should earn him a ban right now. If it doesn't, I may not be visiting this forum anymore.

So Tinsley 'happened' to miss a lot of shots (because he isn't a very good basketball player) -- that most times he is likely to make (even though he isn't a very good basketball player?) -- and defense had nothing to do with it.
Can't wait for the pop quiz.

I have to ask. Do you watch basketball? Do you understand basketball?
Marion was a stud tonight.

What should I say? Do you think that Marion is a good defender? (Hint: there is a right and a wrong answer to that question)

Jamal Tinsley isn't a very good NBA player, but he IS AN NBA PLAYER. Therefore, if he gets shots that he wants to take - if he gets HIS shots where he wants them - then he is most likely going to make them. You seem to be insinuating that I said something inconsistent by saying that Jamal Tinsley missed some easy shots because he's not very good, but that he is still liable to make them quite often.

Jamal Tinsley got a lot of easy shots in the 4th quarter and overtime while Shawn Marion was guarding him. Do you disagree with that?

Any word on the Marion injury?

Did it turn out to be nothing?

Did you watch the game? I'm not trying to mock you when I ask you that, I'm asking a serious question. The reason I ask it is because my original post was about the fourth quarter and overtime, and he got a lot of shots near the basket. And again: my point is not whether or not Tinsley made the shots he took, he got easy shots in positions that he wanted.
