Thanks. He is done for good here now.

While its good that you caught it and made a pre-emptive strike, I was kinda wondering where he was going to go next with his posts. I think you guys should make a little sub-forum on here for all of the banned posters. Let them all post simply in there and discuss whatever they want, and regular posters can go in at their own risk. I think it would lead to some fun/rediculous/ discussions, and you could put Gee! in charge of moderating it.

Well, when you stop laughing, you can PM me your credit card information and I'll charge you for the lesson in basketball knowledge I'm about to give you.

Here goes: statistics are only a small part of the story. When Marion was guarding Tinsley, Tinsley got to the spot on the floor that he wanted and took a shot. He happened to miss a lot of the shots that he took, but that is because Jamal Tinsley isn't a very good basketball player.

I dont think Tinsley was comfortable shooting over marion. He may have gotten to his spots, but shooting over marion has bothered alot better players than Jamal Tinsley. 3-15 shooting late in the game by tinsley cost the pacers the game, and he shot most of them over a a bigger, quicker, longer opponent. No suprise here that marion gets no credit, even if tinsley missed alot of "easy shots". What I saw was tinsley making all kinds of fakes before he shot and then shooting in a rush, trying to avoid getting his shot blocked. Thats what trying to shoot over a taller shot blocking defender will do for ya.

Not to mention Marion was playing with 5 fouls. Excellent defense for guy who has to leave the game if he makes that one defensive mistake.

good point, this was why shawn wasnt bodying Tinsley up, preventing him from getting to those spots. Shawn played very well as did Raja and amare when it mattered. Take away Nash and Hill, your two best creators, and you would expect trouble for the suns. I am actually excited to see MORE marcus banks development. Tonight should be a good opportunity for DA to play marcus 20+ minutes. The Jazz have terrible defense at the '2' position. I realize the suns will be tired and short handed, they may well lose the game. But if marcus gets major "non garbage time minutes", the suns have a chance to get better for the playoffs. Marcus is potentially the suns best defender of speedy guards, he has all the tools. Hopefully marcus will take advantage of the opportunity presented and establish his place in the rotation.

What should I say? Do you think that Marion is a good defender? (Hint: there is a right and a wrong answer to that question)

Jamal Tinsley isn't a very good NBA player, but he IS AN NBA PLAYER. Therefore, if he gets shots that he wants to take - if he gets HIS shots where he wants them - then he is most likely going to make them. You seem to be insinuating that I said something inconsistent by saying that Jamal Tinsley missed some easy shots because he's not very good, but that he is still liable to make them quite often.

Jamal Tinsley got a lot of easy shots in the 4th quarter and overtime while Shawn Marion was guarding him. Do you disagree with that?

Question #1:
"Do you think that Marion is a good defender? (Hint: there is a right and a wrong answer to that question)"

Yes, I do. (Hint: Even formatted for a yes-or-no response, when you ask someone what they THINK, their answer is the only right answer).

Question #2:
"Jamal Tinsley got a lot of easy shots in the 4th quarter and overtime while Shawn Marion was guarding him. Do you disagree with that?"

No, I don't. Tinsley got easy shots. He just didn't make them while Shawn was guarding him. Apparently he didn't get "shots he wanted to take" or he didn't get "HIS shots where he wanted to take them." That was the plan.

Let's just drop it. Figuring out your posts makes my head hurt.
