Defensive cluelessness finds us with Steve Nash on Danny Granger with the game on the line. Yep, that's basically our team in a microcosm.

Amazing how the pacers managed to isolate nash on granger in 0.9 seconds, just amazing. Looks like the DA defense, only quite a bit worse. When you get totally outcoached by jim O brien in 0.9 secs, thats truly depressing.

And just who would saver hire then? It could be worse, the suns could have vinny del negro, or steve Kerr for head coach. And if you dont think kerr will be worse than porter, you may be in for a rude awakening in the next few years.

Steve Kerr as HC, gosh no. He is a terrible GM and a terrible judge of talent. And I don't believe he has ever coached so I have every reason to believe he would be a horrible HC.

I don't think anyone was covering Granger to even foul him, anyway that's how open he was. Great defense. I probably won't sleep all night.

As i said in my previous post, I noticed that too once I saw the replay. Nash was late, and I am not sure what Hill was looking at. It looked like there was a miss communication between Nash, Hill and somebody else.

did u c porter scrambling to cover his ass in the post game? "we were switchin, we were just gonna switch, switch it all around, switch, switch, u know switch...." no one asked him y nash was out there. i wouldve loved to hear him bumble his way thru that one.

True, at least we lost games to buzzer beater on others' 3rd options under DA, while Granger was clearly their 1st.

im not a porter basher. im willing to give the guy a chance, but im sorry, nash (the worst defender on the team) should not be out there on the final defensive possession with .9 seconds left. thats coaching 101 rite there. come on. seriously. how can u let something that glaringly awful go?

Nash was also indirectly involved on Mason's buzzer beater as he and JR collided and hesitated on switch. Neither then was covering anyone closely. It could have been Manu free nailing a game winning 3. So, coach, do you see a pattern here? :bang:

Especially after we already lost one game like that.

ya porter's left nash in there twice now in these situations. and somehow or another we've been burned both times. im not saying its necessarily nash's fault but doesnt porter at least see that there can b an adjustment made to substitute out our worst defender? thereby upgrading our defense? i just dont get it. sigh.................

Maybe the Suns should consider pulling Nash in these type situations.

Hopefully some reporter asks Porter about that.

And why the hell did Nash play the whole 2nd half?

To make things worse, Portland, Utah and Denver all win tonight :-(
That is one of the things that keeps me pissing me off. Whenever we have a chance to move up the rankings, we blow up simple games like today. We did this all year last year too.

The only good thing about this is all the highlights and talk fade away after tomorrow's sportscenters, then its just left to us to talk about it...

It's easier to dodge a thread than a tv show

No defense. I thought this was the reason Porter was brought in. I could live with the situation better if I could see steady improvement on defense. The Suns spacing on offense is all messed up which makes it even worse.

In a van...down by the river.
Stage a halftime show that involves building a bonfire at centercourt, sell kindling & lighterfluid at the foodcourt ,hire Alice Cooper to perform and just let it burn down.

To bad Porter can't draw up a play to score at the other end and it may have been a different result. He has shown so far his defense is just as bad as Dantonis' AND his offense is no where nere as good. Gotta stop losing games like this especially after we fought back from being way down to take the lead, we used to win games like this. Just not real happy with what Porter has been able to do with this team so far seems like we are regressing.

I've only watched the highlights and read the comments here but I agree, what the hell are you doing with Nash, possibly our man defender on the team, in the game with .9 seconds left? I could possibly understand the SA game where there was enough time left to get the rebound to him for free throws but (but even then they usually foul the rebounder right away) but there was absolutely NO reason for him to be in there. That's on Porter.

Secondly, even if he was in there, why oh why are they not switching everything? With .9 seconds left who cares if it creates a mismatch, we just need to contest the shot. Again, I was only able to watch the highlights and it's hard to see the play develop, but maybe there was a switch already. In that case, that one is on Nash as he should be moving as soon as Granger moves.

Frustrating loss.

Yeah but still just assign nash to rasho or some other big who cant shoot from 3 and all is well. The pacers wanted granger and thats exactly what they got in 0.9 sec. That is not about nash, granger should have been swarmed and let someone else shoot. Granger and murphy were the only guys on the floor who were real threats from 3.
