Niners play us tough every damn time...they have the blueprint on how to contain Kyler. We need to be healthy or somewhat healthy to get the win.
Gonna be a close one just my gut

Considering no Watt, no Peters and no Lawrence I thought it did fine. Most of their big gains were deep in their own half and when it got to the crunch I thought they did pretty well in stopping them including in the EZ. And it isn't why we lost the game. We lost because of a muffed punt, a bad INT and then consequently that last play.
There were obviously a LOT of reasons we lost. A large one was our inability to stop the run and allow them to dominate the time of possession. It greatly lessened our opportunities.

I'm more concerned with our central pass rushers. They don't get pressure and they certainly aren't stopping the runners. I didn't know I would be saying this but....... JJ Watt is still really, really good and his loss will be very hard to replace without more schemed blitzes.

There is a lot of talk about Rogers quick passes to avoid pass rush. It seemed like in the second half that Kyler was doing the same thing and we were moving the ball more. I was wondering why we weren’t doing this in the first half of the game. Was it the play calling or Kyler not looking at the shorter quicker routes in the first half?

Kliff I assume. He said he didn't call a good game.

The whole team seemed to have a prime time football moment in the first half. Felt like they wanted to put on a show rather than taking what was there.

To me. it looked like Kyler was afraid to step up in the pocket during the first half and that he calmed down after half time. I just assume that initially he didn't trust the OL with a third stringer at center.

This loss still hurts. I hope the team can learn from this loss.
It might be a scheme or personnel problem but both of our lines are weak in the trenches. The return of Hudson might help the oline but unless the defense can stuff the run better and get to quicker release QBs better, we will have a short playoff run.
Brady also has a quick release.

Saw complaints that we didn't blitz AR enough. I'm guessing that GB's short passes dictated that. AR really got the ball out quickly.
This is on VJ. VJ had us playing extremely soft and off the ball, which was stupid on several levels. It allowed AR to feast on us in the short game. If we didn't play this way, our pass rush/the blitz would have had a chance. It also offered GB's offense a reprieve and space for their young WRs to work in, rather than putting those kids under pressure. I cannot, for the life of me, guess why VJ called such a scared, soft defense, giving the opponent every opportunity to get comfortable.

Green Bay fans are 90% frontrunner.

And yeah, I'm going to to go there because I feel like being extra petty....Packers fans are usually fat cheese eating midwesterners with no culture. Aaron Rodgers is a giant ******.
The people that own the tickets sell them for profit. They're fan will put in their badgers or bucks jersey on quick fast and in a hurry. I always say if the pack loses they are the Siberian Packers. Like nobody around here ever heard of them.

Murray pressured all game while Rogers felt no pressure.
Packers ran the ball at will, doubling the Cardinals run game output.
No doubt that game was lost in the trenches.

Football Outsiders has an interesting piece on "Surprising DVOA Ratings" arising from the week 8 games.

They developed a "Post-Game Win Expectancy (PGWE)":
This formula asks the question, "Given how each team played in this game, based on VOA splits without opponent adjustments, how often should we expect each team to win the game?" Some games are pretty easy. The Philadelphia Eagles had 99.97% PGWE after beating the Lions 44-6. Not a surprise. But a couple of games each week have a PGWE that does not agree with the actual winner of the game. These "unexpected results" help explain movement in the DVOA ratings because usually it means the winning team had a lower DVOA rating than the losing team. There were three games this week with "reverse PGWE," and let's go through those three games to see how they help explain some of the unexpected movement in the DVOA rankings this week.
1. Tampa Bay: 79% to Beat New Orleans, Lost 36-27
3. Indianapolis: 68% to Beat Tennessee, Lost 34-31 (OT)

2. Arizona: 75% to Beat Green Bay, Lost 24-21
Here's another game where you have yardage on one hand and turnovers on the other. The Cardinals outgained the Packers, 6.1 net yards per play to 4.7. The Packers won the turnover battle, 3-0. However, there were four fumbles in this game and the Packers recovered three of them, a little regression of the superb fumble luck the Cardinals had early in the season. Overall, the Cardinals ended up with the better DVOA in this game despite the loss. The Cardinals were at 21.1% and the Packers at 9.4%.
