At issue: Does a player become bound by the concussion protocol because (1) he might have a concussion vs. (2) he definately has a concussion?

I'm generally in favor of erring on the side of caution, but we really don't know what Carson's specific symptoms were or whether the medics are being super-cautious going in.

We also don't know what the docs will base their decisions on: i.e. no headaches at the 4 day mark? absence of reflex/other symptoms altogether? no symptoms after the 7 day mark?

What I'm hoping is that CP didn't display severe symptoms but the medics put him into the protocol "just to make sure everything was OK."

Note - News CP is out for Thurs was announced as I was editing this post. (Goes to show you how much I know).

Once you're in the protocol there are very specific milestones a player has to pass to get cleared which is why I felt it was very unlikely he could do that by Thur.

I'm hoping he's ok to play the Jets the following game but you get into this given the type of defense they play, it almost wouldn't shock me if he missed that game too.

Speaking of milestones, I think the concussion protocol now effectively cements Favre's ironman streak as unbreakable.

Now I'm not saying it's a bad thing, or a good thing for that matter, but with the hyper-sensitivity now regarding concussions no one will ever touch that record.
