Took a look at the replay of the Eagles game. On the third play, Palmer is stripped of the ball. He immediately clenched his right hand in pain.

Wonder how bad his hand injury is? Might explain why he is under-throwing receivers and getting picked off. One of his problems in the past was that he would overthrow receivers, not underthrow.

Is he healthy enough over a sound Stanton?

YEs to should we start him over stanton.

I saw him doing that too but even with a sore hand he needs to start IMO. he has had the sore hand for a few weeks and it didnt matter in the other games.

He is on the injured list

With the hand the past couple of weeks and now with the right elbow. Hope he's good to go vs Rams---get Stanton some reps with the first team this week just in case.

We need the Ram game and hope Arians has the guts to pull Palmer if he's not right. A healthy Stanton may give us a better chance over a wounded Palmer.

Not liking the sounds of any of this. Without Palmer we will not only lose but get killed. He has to play as does Floyd and Ellington. The Rams D is not a joke.

At least Stanton can outrun a sack and backups (if decent) usually can fair well if the only start one or two games before defenses get a read on them.

Can you guarantee that , I recall that sometime back in the season Terrell Pryor was sacked 10 ( TEN ) times by the KC defence . I'm guessing that Pryor is most likely the fastest of foot QB in the NFL .

Our QB will need to throw a few deep balls to offset T Austin---Rams have finally figured out how to use him in their O and we really don't have the speed to match him once he turns on the afterburners.

Either one of our QBs is going to get hammered by the Rams D-Line. The QB who plays needs to be one that can stand and deliver a few chunk throws. If Palmer is down to 10 yard floaters I think we need to consider Stanton. He's been in Arians O for two years.

Hate to see a game lost because an injured Palmer plays and turns the ball over a couple times and leaves our D hanging.

Palmer had a big say in why we lost to the Eagles. He is not our future, so I for one would like to see what Stanton can do. Maybe it's ugly, maybe it's not. If Palmer is at all limited, then we should go with Stanton.

Why again are people rooting for Stanton to start? He's terrible.

If Palmer did in fact hurt his hand, that may explain why his passes floated all day. He missed wide open receivers all day. I was there! I saw it first hand. I'm fine with Palmer if he's healthy. If not, he should sit. If you don't want Stanton, then go with Lindley;)

Yes he has been in BA's offense for two years. Standing on the sideline next to him with a clipboard. The Rams would eat him alive.

This is my fear, and it seems to be a fear which not many have. What if Stanton does play and light the Rams up. Then Stanton pulls out another victory, maybe an improbable one against the Seahawks. Then the Cardinals start thinking they have their QB of the future...well, you know what, he wouldn't be. Then the Cardinals will neglect a QB in the first rounds of the draft and realize by mid season of next year that Stanton hardly is a starter

I agree that he could possibly play well against the Rams, but that just won't happen in Seattle. He'll get crushed & we'll rightfully return to a hopefully healed up Palmer. I would just like to see how familiar Stanton really is with BA's offense.

Hand is fine, but not sure if this is any better.

Huh.

The guy is living off one long return, one long run, and one long pass the ENTIRE season.

He's had 6 catches for 64 yards the last two games. Take away his one long pass play of the year for 81 yards and he's averaging 8.6 yards per catch on 38 receptions, or about 3 catches for 25 yards per game. If he's the guy we need to ofest I really like our chances on Sunday, with or without Palmer.

It's not a Palmer vs Stanton debate. We need to win Sunday and the only concern should be fielding the best group of players to win the game. At this point, we have seen a healthy Palmer win some games and give us a fighting chance. Stanton is a complete unknown as to how he would play. The coaching decision has to be going with a healthy backup QB or stick with an injured starter QB.

Our playoff chances are very slim---even 10-6 may not make it. Every game is needed in the W column. Injuries are piling up at the exact wrong time with Ellington, Floyd, and now Palmer. If Palmer starts, he needs to be on a very short lease depending upon his arm strength and accuracy. Flutterball throws get intercepted and/or get the WRs hung up and injured. Have one of our backups ready to go at the first sign of ineffectiveness.

My point was that the Rams have finally figured out how to incorporate Austin into their offense.

I agree if Palmer starts and can't throw he should come out. That said Stanton hasn't taken a snap all year. The Rams get pressure with a 4 man rush and they would throw the kitchen sink at Stanton. We lose big in my opinion.

Carson Palmer did little in open part of practice. A few tosses. Threw balls back to other QBs with left hand. Arians meets w/us in an hour

620 AM reporting that Palmer will be a game time decision.

This usually means that the player probably shouldn't play. And in most cases when they do start, they end up hindering their team rather than helping.
