Tito Paul, Cedric Mack and Carl Carter think PP gets a bad rap.
What, no Tom 'Crystal' Knight????
.
How did I forget about that clown?
The definition of an elite DB is one who can play press coverage WITHOUT a safety on top. Heck, any decent NFL DB should be able to execute decent press coverage with a safety on top. Too bad for us PP needs a safety on top.
in fairness to you, he was pretty damn forgettable.
Where did you find this definition?

very bad season for peterson so far,,throw at him and u get a good chance to complete a pass.
he thinks to be better then he really is and he should try to work his ass off and being more humble, cause he has all tools to be the best
How can you say that is bad. He is usually covering the top WR on the other team and yet they have only targeted him 27 times. That means that either they aren ot open or they are looking away from PP. To put that in prespective, most top WR's are averaging over 50 targets so far this season.
Bruce but why always using the excuse he is covering best wr? He didnt against denver.
The way he play he can struggle even against the 3th receiver.
he gives too much field to the receiver ,he is slow with his read.play lazy, like he won for the 5th time the award as a best player in the nfl.
he doesnt recognize yet how to use hands against opposite receiver.
If he is so poor at everything you mentioned, they why has he only been thrown at 27 times and only allowed 17 receptions? You would think he would be getting picked on more than Powers, who by the way, has been targeted 43 time, which is 16 more times than PP. If you want to say he has made some bad plays I will agree, but you make it seem as if he is terrible.

Even though you have not been able to see it, PP is playing bad because Keim, BA, Bowles and PP himself says he is. Think, if he was really good, opposing QBs would not throw at his man and PP at all, but since they do, that should tell you that he is not playing well and not earning his contract.
Argue you all you want, but your excuses for him would be OK only if he did not proclaim himself to be the best DB in the NFL and if he did not saddle the Cards with his huge contract. As I pointed out before, Keim is speaking out because he gave PP the huge contract with the understanding that PP had to elevate his game even beyond his prior years performances. I am sure PP understood that. Now Keim and PP are getting heat for that contract as well as PP's substandard play (and not even against the best receiver on the other team) that adversely affects the defensive schemes that are constructed with the assumption PP will lock down his receiver and that ain't happening.
It's amazing we had a guy in Knight who could cover guys well but once the ball was in the air it was like his brain locked and he couldn't make a play on the ball.
We had Cedric Mack who got converted to WR, nobody could cover him, but he dropped like 3 TD passes in his first game and a half at the position and they eventually gave up.
The amount of bad CB play we have seen as Cardinals fans is disgusting.
I guess we did have Wehrli, Aeneas and now PP.
