This is one of the rare times I wanted the Patriots to win, because of the playoff implications, but I see no way that pass is complete to Gronk even if the defender on him was not there. The ball was too underthrown and would've been picked anyhow. No way in hell Gronk makes his was back for the catch from where he was to where the pick was made.

If they had flagged for PI, everyone would've been screaming favoritism for NE, which is what it would've been IMO.

Not PI: Illegal Contact/ Holding well after 5 yards. Should've been granted an untimed play.

Watch it again. Gronk is literally grabbed and pushed towards the back of the endzone. Regardless of whether or not he could've caught it, he has to be given the opportunity to make a play for it. IMO, had this not been the final play of the game, the refs would not have picked up the flag.

What about the battle between Talib and Smith? They really went at it last night. Exciting game to watch.

Newton is really big for a QB and when the camera was at field level you could really see him as big or bigger that the linemen.

Kuechly is all over the field.

Wow, what a bogus flag pick up. It wasn't a dirt ball. It was in the air when the blatant hold/tackle was inflicted, yet somehow 3 boneheads huddle together and pick up the flag. If that game is in New England , no flag picked up. Someone had a huge bet on Carolina.

I'm not an expert on the official rules, however, Steve Young, Ray Lewis and Trent Dilfer all said the penalty should've been called. Not Pass interference, but face-guarding and/or holding. They said that no matter where the ball is, face-guarding or holding are always called...
I'll take their word for it. The Pats got jobbed...

And... In the Karma can be a bitch category... Earlier in the game, a Pats offensive linemen leg-whipped Charles Johnson which caused him to miss most of the rest of the game. It was blatant and ugly a mind I'm sure the league will come down heavy on that dude...

This happens on every last hail Mary and its never called so just because the pats were closer and ran a designed play? No way gronk has a shot at that ball. You can't have a game like that end in a penalty.
