Per John Gambadoro Suns offer Dragic a contract.

John Gambadoro ‏@Gambo620

Suns offer to Dragic is 4 years 30 mill, Houston offer might be for more so if he turns it down tomorrow Suns turn attention to Felton.

Showing a lot of faith in their drafting offering 4 year deals to point guards. Can't wait to see an overweight Felton running the point and starting a mutiny.

Dragic averaged about 18 and 7 with starters minutes in Houston. You would have to assume that would jump to 20 and 9 in the suns system? Hes a high character guy as well and plays defense. Id love to get him back but then the suns kind of wasted a pick on marshall..

I've learned the importance of a backup PG after watching the lack thereof for Steve Nash over the past 8 years. Marshall will not be wasted if he can play.

Lol can anyone explain the basketball logic behind these moves? Seems to me everything is done with the illusion of trying. Just bottom out already. Who the F cares the difference between a 20 win non playoff team and a 35 win non playoff team? In fact I'd take the 20 win team as at least their is hope to draft a star.

Now this is what I agree 100% with. These are the moves of a team with no direction, no plan. They have cap space, so they are blowing cap space. They're building an, at best, 35 win team... and an expensive one at that.

I imagine the Beasley and Gordon signing has something to do with the Suns new "moneyball" analytics. I'm willing to give this strategy a try. They targeted both of these guys right off the bat, and have managed to sign both (if NOLA doesn't match Gordon). It's not like they have struck out with their top choices and are now scraping the bottom of the barrel. Let's give them a run.

I'm okay with Gordon and Beasley, since both seem to have pretty significant potential (although I know not everyone feels that way about Beasley). But I've seen more than enough of Dragic already. We already know that he can look brilliant for three weeks and then go back to looking like a D-Leaguer. How can this offer possibly be a good idea?

WTH are the Suns doing?!?!?!

Anybody?

This has to be the most bi-polar front office in the NBA.

They are taking chances, something none of you would say Sarver would do. They could backfire, but they are making some major, major changes to the team.

Sources saying Dragic has accepted a 4-year, 32mil deal with the suns. ESPN

I read it as 4yr/34mil, but what's a couple mil when you're on a roll. That cap space must be burning a hole in the Suns pocket.

Projectile vomit. I could stomach Gordon and Beasley, and am sort of intrigued by both, but Dragic couldn't get out of town fast enough for me. This is awful.

Maybe too much money, but I certainly won't call it awful and my razor blades will still stay in the drawer.

Razor blades have nothing to do with it. But by the middle of next season, I assure you that most of this board will be calling for Dragic to be permanently removed from the rotation, and hysterical over the fact that the Suns are stuck with him until 2016. He's going to make the Childress deal look good by comparison.

what are you talking about? This off-season is playing out EXACTLY the way a lot of us feared... that we'd go the route of the Detroit Pistons and take STUPID chances simply because we had cap space.

Like a stone in the ocean. That's how fast we'll go down. I even think the chance of 35 wins is remote. This will be one of the worst teams in the NBA. Bobcats/Wizards bad. Vegas will favor our opponent in nearly every game we play. It's not even that we don't have NBA all-stars. We don't have NBA STARTERS.

Gordon=Gordon
Villanueva=Beasley

Only difference is the Suns have more rope to hang themselves with and added Dragic(and they're not done yet). I think they'll sign anyone as long as they have cap to spend.

And that's bad? If what you say is true, we tank and get a top 3 pick. Are you saying you don't want that?

I'd be surprised that anyone would be shocked by these moves. This franchise has been a joke for years, now this is icing on the cake.
