The Cards don't owe Whis anything. Credibility only counts when you have it. There's no resting on laurels in the NFL. Just look at the Manning situation as proof of that. Hell, look at a guy like Denny Green, who was also on the competition committee. Well respected around the league until he gets here and starts to suddenly forget how to coach.

Denny didn't forget how to coach. He inherited an abysmal situation and in just two seasons had the roster ready to roll. Then in 2006 he, like so many others, fell victim to the Cardinal luck. A gift win over the Rams fumbled away. A 20-10 lead vs KC blown in the 4th Quarter. And of course the Monday night meltdown just sapped all the energy out of the team for the next 3 games. Denny just forgot to keep his cool. That team eventually rallied to win 4 of their last 7 and set the Cards up to draft Adrian....ah forget it.
