Anyone else getting a bad feeling about SF coming in at the last minute with an offer Manning can't refuse?

Hopefully, Manning decides to play here, but Reggie Wayne pouts and opts for Miami. That way we can go after Garcon.

Aint gonna happen. Harbaugh is all about building up Alex Smith and any offer to Manning would be a serious blow to that whole concept. Plus, I can't see Manning running that SF offense, or them switching offenses for the 2nd time in 2 years to accomadate Manning.

Been saying this for weeks.....

In my mind I believe it's been the Cardinals the whole time with Wiz, Fitz, and the winnable division. The rest has been a dog and pony show IMO.

Guess well see if I'm right. don't F--- this up Cardinals by being unprepared or low balling him.
I now strongly believe this has been the case... hence the exceptionally tight lipped Cards brass

Texans are bigger concern IMO.

Harbaughs offense and the way he believes you win doesn't jive with Peytons air it out game. Harbaugh has enough credit bought up after last year that he can run things on his terms.

I love him but part of him going with Smith is to stroke his own ego. HE'S the reason. Peyton would kill that.

Jim Trotter reported earlier that there is "mystery" team kicking the tires and mulling over making an offer for Peyton..

IMO, I think he may be talking about Houston, which I personally think is probably the very best situation for Peyton if I am being objective, but for Houston I am not sure it makes a whole lot of sense to do it..

who knows..

SF WR's blow, they play in one of the league's worst stadiums and Harbaugh is a control freak who wouldn't turn over his offense to Manning.

No chance Peyton would even consider SF.

This seems to be a case of each of us reading into each statement "what we want to hear."

The latest NFL crawl I read (incidentally one that no longer is considered a "headline") said that Manning was slated to travel to AZ and after that "fly to Miami."

Unclear was whether Peyton was flying to Miami to meet with the Dolphs or "returning" to Miami and his condo.

Depends on what you want to hear.

While I'm excited, I haven't heard enough to let my expectations get too high - too many possible variables are still out there. My guess is that "we'll know when we know."

lol, a "mystery" team. The idea that he could know another team is interest but have no idea who it could be makes me question if he "knows" anything at all.

Were I Michael I'd fly him into Scottsdale (where Lears and Gulfstreams are as common as dirt) and and roll it into a hanger. No one would see PM de-plane. Car is waiting, straight shot down the 101 to the facility.

Peyton Manning is expected to visit with the Arizona Cardinals after leaving the Denver Broncos.

That visit could begin Saturday night if suspicions are correct and Manning boarded this flight from Denver, as friend of the NFC West blog Dustin Holmes suspected.

That's as close to the NFC West as some would like Manning to come.

St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis, speaking recently with Bernie Miklasz on 101ESPN St. Louis, called Manning "a nightmare to play against" and said he'd prefer to keep the free-agent quarterback out of the division. Laurinaitis also offered insight into one way a healthy Manning can give a defense problems.

"I was unfortunately a rookie trying to audible at the line of scrimmage," Laurinaitis said. "He will let that play clock run down to one second before he snaps it, three plays in a row, and you think the next play h

The template for this was the way Anaheim swooped in at the last minute and broke the hearts of us bb Cardinal fans by snatching Pujos.

It could happen here (though I think the Peyton-snatcher would more likely be Seattle or possibly KC).

Those teams were already overtly interested and... judging by his travel plans, Peyton wasnt.

A "mystery" team IMO would be someone who hasnt said they want him yet... like Baltimore, or Houston.

And yes, as others have said, Houston scares me the most. If they want him I think they would get him in a heartbeat.

Doubt it. Don't think Peyton is going to sell out the Colts fanbase and organization like that

Jureki confirmed a little while ago that it was the Cardinals who sent the private Jet for Manning tonight, easing the concerns of some..

What would really make an impression is if Michael was the one flying :D

Was a little nervous initially, making him fly here on his dime would be 1990's Cardinal style.

I thought that may be the case, but earlier tonight it was reported on the NFL network that indeed he was simply flying back to Miami and that there was no meeting currently set for the Dolphins..

Further, as was very well pointed out by others on this thread, this report is consistent wh=ith all the timelines we keep hearing about how Manning wants to be signed by Tuesday morning before F.A. begins..

But alas, this is just the current plans and anything could happen, but I think it is safe to say if he all of a sudden schedules the Dolphins/Seahawks/Chiefs in the next couple days it would be a VERY ominous sign for the Cards..

Id totally forgotten about Frank Reich as a factor. Between Larry's "dinner" and the Cards signing Peyton's QB coach there may have already been a lot of discussion made with Peyton.

In-case you cant tell I am trying to talk myself into this being a done deal.
