I don't know, CC. There was some pretty heated talk about the quality of Fitz's character and his desire to remain in the city/have the team be successful. Well before his agent started getting any heat.
Honestly, I could care less about this. This is business, and the business end of the NFL is intellectually interesting, but I'm not going to get hung up on it. If Anquan says that he wants a trade, I hope that all those people here who were willing to string up Fitzgerald have a change of heart.
But this is about money, and as long as Anquan Boldin does his job, shows up when he's supposed to, and performs on the field, then I'm going to be happy.
But when the team decides to upgrade Boldin's deal if he doesn't have a monster season on the field (2007 was the second-worst season of his career in every category except TDs--where he legitimately set a career high), then players like Dansby, Wilson, and Dockett will be legitimately peeved.
For a fan base that is so sensitive to double standards (especially when it comes to the WR position), upgrading Boldin wouldn't seem to be a priority.
