The $7 million makes me feel worse about this signing. Nothing more than a "feel good farewell tour" signing. Is he going to sell $7 million in ticket revenue? Is that # a veteran minimum salary? Taking up a roster spot that could be used for a young developing player. Tired of hearing the "veteran presence for a rookie coach" rationale. Is he a mentor and if so for who? I always had a feeling he was not that type.

Just go play golf.

$7 million is peanuts for a pass Rusher. Trey Flowers just got 17 and he has not outproduced Suggs.

Listening to sports talk shows this morning, they feel that Suggs for $7 million is good deal for the Cards. Oh well, at least he is still productive and will be a good leader for the Defense as Fitz is for the Offense. Let's see what else the Cards do over the next several days. :bigyawn:

Can he still rush the passer? Running on empty? Maybe/maybe not.

Stupid money for Flowers but he is relatively young.

Cameron Wake is available. Sign him and their combined age is 74.

You are right, it's just his age at 37 that has most of us wondering if it is too much. He is still productive and will be an excellent role model.

7m is probably way too much. But I wouldn't question Suggs' desire and passion for the game. He will give us everything he's got. Just the type of player he is.

Mentor for who? I heard the best player in the draft is Nick Bosa and the Cards hold the 1st overall pick. Suggs and Bosa are similar players.

JFC that’s a lot
Oh it’s the cardinals equivalent of $15 for one year of Trevor ariza. Good to see the cards taking pointers from the suns. Yuck.

It will be interesting too see what Za'Darius Smith and Preston Brown got from the Packers and what Golden ends up getting compared to the $7 million we gave Suggs.

It's not a bad deal. Look at the 3-4 OLBs from 2018 who count more than $7M for 2019 so far:

Terrell Suggs $7M 7 sacks in 2018

Whitney Mercilus $7.3M 4 sacks in 2018

Bud Dupree $9.2M 5.5 sacks in 2018

Ryan Kerrigan $14M 13 sacks in 2018

Nick Perry $14.2M 1.5 sacks in 2018

Dee Ford $15.4M 13 sacks in 2018

Jadevon Clowney $16M 9 Sacks in 2018

Chandler Jones $16.5M 13 Sacks in 2018 (as a 4-3DE)

Khalil Mack $22.3M 12.5 sacks in 2018

Von Miller $25.1M 14.5 sacks in 2018

And this doesn't include the crazy contracts that are not official yet

Dante Fowler $14M 4 sacks in 2018

etc

It is a fine deal. If it was 3 for 21 it would be a problem. They know they are going to draft an EDGE rusher and brought in Suggs to help with the learning curve. It gives them the ability to draft Quinnen Williams if they like him the most in round 1. It gives them the ability to trade back if they need to. It gives them a starter while they transition Bosa into an OLB vs DE in base formations.

This is a move to bring in a vet leader with a great work ethic, who can still produce as a starter, and give the team options in the draft. This is what FA should be used for.

John Harbaugh on Terrell Suggs signing with Cardinals: "I definitely didn't see that one coming. It wasn't about money for Sizz. When you talk to him about that, you understand. He had his personal reasons for it, and they're very good reasons. They're family-oriented."

16 years too late! Just like AD

Damn you human snail. Great player but how much is left in the tank?
Said human snail was 10x the drafter that Keim is. The 2 Graves draft picks still on this team are heads and shoulders better than anyone Keim has drafted.
