Peter said he is encouraged in what the Diamondbacks have done and thinks Glaus could hit 50 homers this year. He likes the line-up of Gonzo, Glaus and Green.

He also said there is still a chance Vazquez could be traded to Baltimore or Philadelphia and he said if he was dealt Arizona would get back some good young pitchers in return.

I think anything is possible this year but we will not be any worse than last year. Thankfully the Diamondbacks play in the weak NL West.

The line-up is definitely improved with Glaus and Green. I won't miss Hillenbrand.

Pitching staff may be really shaky even with Vazquez. Ortiz and Estes do nothing for me at all.

I really have no clue how they will do this year. My best guess will be around .500, better if some of the young pitchers step it up.

Striving for mediocrity is a step up from last year's debacle, but that's about the best you can hope for when retooling with Vets on the downside...

50 homers is cool...but what about batting average and strikeouts? I hope glaus can put it all together.

To me, trading Hillenbrand will come back to haunt them. I know they are doing it as a salary "dump", but Hillenbrand could be VERY productive with other decent players in the lineup with him.

I completely agree that our pitching staff could be very shaky, but to me i think Webb should rebound, and we may just have problems in the 4-5 with area.

Lastly, the bullpen is my major concern. We are putting out there a decent lineup for the NL west, a lineup that will score some runs, a pitching staff that will get us through 5-6, but nothing after that. Just look at what we have down there and its not much. I am glad we finally traded Randolph, perhaps it shows that managment may have a little bit of a plan and figure out a way to bolster the bullpen come Opening day.

O and E do less than nothing for me. All 3 G's may have to hit 50 HRs because I envision a lot of slowpitch softball-like scores at the BOB this year.
