Saw it today, simply amazing special effects...it's amazing what we can do now...

Other than a few long scnese, it was really good and enjoyable.

And for BIM and Fischer...yeah, I almost cried at the end...I'm a sap.

Poor King Kong.

Fantastic movie. Just amazing CGI, and the character of Kong is very much developed and shows through. Watts was great. Jack was great. Brodie was good.

Probably will get a best pic nom and def a best director.

Got a nod for Director but nothing in the way of Best Pic... Still a great movie though...:raccoon:

Saw the flick last night too. Good story and good pacing. 3:07 is a long time, but I cant really see what PJ could have chopped; each scene either was an action sequence or fairly key to the character development. The CG might be the best we have seen so far.

By the way...I don't think Naomi Watts has looked any better....she was breathtaking in this movie...and just did a fantastic job considering it was likely 90% blue screens behind her all the time...

I thought it was good, not great. I agree with just about everyone on the planet that it was too long.

The beginning in New York was too long, we really didn't need that much backstory on Watts and Black's characters.

The scene in "Insect Valley" should have been cut along with the "iceskating scene".

I love Naomi Watts, but I agree with Mao that there were too many close-ups of her. There must have been 75 of her throughout the film.

The natives should have been portrayed as being more human instead of being almost "orc-like" and cartoonish.

I recommend it, but it isn't award material IMHO.

I just watched it. I didn’t mind the length, some of the fighting scenes were a little long, but overall everything flowed quite well. Like was said earlier, the CGI was amazing. Watts was excellent, however I thought she looked a little funny when running full speed. I guess that may be due to all of the blue screens she was acting in front of.
