Maybe by running the least effective passing scheme in K1s career.

Or when he calls 2&19 draw plays or 3&21 trick plays.

Quantify "least effective"?

Kyler was 12th in EPA per pass after being 27th last year, 28th the year before, I can't find older data.

I think Kyler misses a lot of opportunities with poor recognition and poor throws, but this scheme makes what he does do efficient.

His two previous years were also worse for yards per game. And while his YPA sucks vs the rest of the league it was actually his joint 2nd highest of his career.

Until Kyler proves he can exploit the intermediate middle of the field he will remain a little above ordinary.

We all believe we need edge and DT. However, this offense underperformed. This regime might be thinking we need to solidify the biggest, baddest o-line possible.

Here’s the polarizing thing with Kyler. Most believe there probably isn’t a better option for us this year. So.
Some believe he is adequate.
Many believe he can be better.
Many believe he should be better.
Many believe he will never be better.

We can and should be able to do both. We have a ton of cap space and a draft deep with talent at two defensive areas of need. How about we throw money at the OL in FA and draft our needs, with maybe a Hargrave tossed into the FA mix? Or an edge?

Absolutely. There is no reason not to expect some bold moves. I don’t see us trading multiple high picks to make a trade.
However we could and should absolutely solidify this o-line. You probably know how I feel about removing any excuses for Kyler. It’s already been said, “See what Kyler did against the 49ers when he has time.”
We have our starting right guard and right tackle with significant injuries… and not by developing rookies.
That side needs to be fixed immediately.

How many QBs have been this Meh as a passer through 6 seasons and then been good? I can't think of one, but of there is it's not many.

There's nobody better than Hernandez available in FA this side of 32 apart from Trey Smith and Will Fries from the Colts, and I'll be surprised if Smith leaves the Chiefs.

I'm not even sure there's an upgrade on Evan Brown in FA, just different flavors of Evan Brown. Maybe Mekhi Becton? He was pretty good this year and is FA. Not sure Eagles can pay all their guys but I'm also wary of signing guys with one good year on an elite O line. Tevin Jenkins a similar one season "wonder", if wonder means much better than they were.

It's a pretty dire FA group, not just at guard.

By definition, these are the "throwing money at" type of player.

IMHO that is recipe for disaster. It leads you to taking a Levi Brown over AP. I believe you fill your needs in FA and draft the best players available.

Please don't.

Like it or not, Petzing is our OC and is thought of highly in the league. Not surprised at all that a team is interviewing him.
Who thinks highly of him?

Very weird that a O coordinator is interviewed after an offensive collapse to end the season. A non playoff birth and a losing record because of the offense.

WAS
at SEA
at LAR
DET

All we needed was to go 1-3 win and in 3 of those games the opposing offense was manhandled by our defense.

Seattle’s OC gets the boot as well.

It is very strange to me as well.

Going into this season he was on many potential head coach lists. Most coordinators require making a leap to head coach as they lack experience in that job. So Pentzing still being considered is not surprising. He took on an offense with a weak receiver group, a troublesome QB situation and a history of limited recent success. The Cards certainly weren’t overwhelming on offense, but a major coaching criterium is the ability to perform under less than ideal circumstances. I doubt he will be the choice (Kingsbury is the popular rumor). It does mean Pentzing is well thought of.
People have been complaining all year about the offense.

He took an offense that was ranked 20th overall last year with Kyler and made them 18th overall.

I guess if you hate Kyler that is an accomplishment.

Rallis took a 31st ranked defense and made them 14th overall.

Why is he not getting interview?

Prob cuz he has no reason to want to leave with the fact that Ojulari, Gardeck, both our DT’s and others will be healthy to start next year. Not to mention if we get a passrusher.

We will see who else respects Petzing around the league besides the Bears.

If you want to act like Kyler is the entire problem then you have to give Kingsberry more credit in than him 2020 and 2021 than Petzing.

One of my friends is a SEA fan and he was pretty shocked. Geno and their offense has been regressing for 3 years now. Jason Smith Ngiba had a great year. But it might have something to do with the fact that barely ran the ball well. Except against us here of course.

Also, not that I would want it but by this Petzing logic why isn’t Rallis getting interviewed?

For the season as a whole, our def finished above average and the offense finished below average.

I guess I missed the interview with Drew claiming he deserved to be a head coach.
I know he did some good things with limited pieces in CLE and he has done some good things here especially with the ground game.

But I can’t legit say that his passing offense is better than Kingsberry’s. The Bears have a bunch of weapons. Its not like they are considering becoming a running a team again.
