Attitude? If by attitude you mean boatloads of confidence, then I agree. Deion was, and continues to be, the best cover corner ever. He can have all the attitude he wants, IMO.
I expect you mean to say except for Annias Williams, Deion .....

Yes, he was.
- Deion was brought up to make the point that it really isn't that big of a deal if DRC isn't the greatest open field tackeler. His job isn't to bring down bruising RBs that break into the open.
- Deion was better than Aeneas as a COVER corner.
Yes, we are.Deion was a better corner, and it isn't even close.
I love Aeneas, but we are comparing Kurt Warner and Joe Montana here.
The stats say Aeneas was better (interpret how you want) or just as good
Aeneas-13 seasons
-795 tackles
-55 int's
-9 tds
- 3 sacks
-5 forced fumbles
-8 pro bowls
-5 x all pro
Sanders-16 seasons
- 513 tackles
-53 int's
-9 tds
-1 sack
-0 forced fumbles
-8 pro bowls
-9 x all pro
I bet most you guys didn't even realize #35 led or tied him in EVERY category except times he was all pro. Most people WAY under estimate how good Aeneas was. He's was the consumate pro, without all the talk about how he was (Deion) and is the probably the single most reason our new stadium is built out in the cotton fields of Glendale.
Pretty impressive except for the fact that Sanders didn't play 16 years. He played 13 and 2 of them were after he came out of a 3 year retirement and played as an (in NFL years) old man. Look at the All-Pro part. Deion was 1st Team All-Pro 6 times, Aeneas 3 times. This whole argument is about who was a better COVER corner. At least that is what I'm talking about. Tackles and sacks mean nothing. A good corner doesn't get gaudy stats because they aren't being thrown against. The passer is going to the other side. The stats say Aeneas was better (interpret how you want) or just as good

I'll just disagree with you. I don't think anyone outside of AZ would select Aeneas over Deion if they had the choice. I also have no idea how you can say the new stadium was built because of Aeneas. How did you come up with that one?
Troy Aikman said Aeneas was the best all-around cornerback he played against. This was a couple years ago when Aeneas was playing for the Rams.
If you throw in return abilities, it might be different.

I don't think it can be denied that Neon played with better pass rushes, but I would still put him above AWilliams.
We're not talking Pro Bowl. We're talking All-Pro. No fans voting. All Pro is as much a function of hype and popularity as skill
Deion played on national tv alot
Aeneas hardly played on national tv at all
If I had to pick the skill set for DRC to have, Williams or Sanders, I would be happy as hell to have either.if i had to pick for my team it would be Williams.

We need a CB in our secondary who's really big, speedy and athletic.
Is DRC ready? If not, how soon?
Ready or not, all I know is that we need what he can deliver physically.
THE PRESIDIO RULE
Presidio was a Clint Eastwood movie featuring marine platoon whose job was to roll over and play dead for the CO's favorite platoon of "aggressor forces." (You never saw a more dog-assed bunch of soldiers until Eastwood came along to make them believers).
What I'm wondering is: Is it necessarily a good thing to match up a young kid against a super star in drills? Could going up against Fitz work against DRC's confidence and actually impede his development because there'd be few opportunities for "positive reinforcement."
I always suspected that Buddy Ryan's attempts to make his defense "the aggressor platoon" in drills was one reason why his offenses sucked. They were beaten up repeatedly in practice and probably assumed they sucked when it came to game time. Just wondering.
Discuss.
