Ronin, you seem cool not talking smack win or lose, just bring us the head of Blowhard!!! He comes on here running his mouth all the time. I'm quite sure he is ready to jump off the Golden Gate bridge by now.

Opposed to 60 years of fail

Can't say anything really since SF only had 30 years of fail before they started winning consistently.

As bad as the Cards have been since the AFL/NFL merger they've never had the worst record in the NFL. Something SF accomplished back to back in 1978 and 1979 and again in 2004. So even though SF has been far better they have also been far worse.

Now you can...

As much as I dislike the 9ers, they are going to give the Cards a run for their money in the coming years. They could very easily be a 10 win team next season.

I love those type of fans....they make the 49ers board so much more enjoyable.:grabs:

Yeah? They were the sexy pick this season because they won a lot of meaningless games down the stretch last year, same as this year.

Other than the Cards, I don't think they have one win over a team with a winning record.

I'll steal the line a guy said on usenet in 1993 about UCLA basketball.

The 49ers last division win was so long ago it has to be carbon dated.

I actually think Singletary has done a good job, the questions I have are as follows.

1) What does he do at QB? The way he coaches it's all or nothing, he can't go back to Hill now he already gave up on him. When it really mattered today Smith let him down and lost the game in a way that has to drive Singletary nuts, switch to a finesse formation to make Smith comfortable and he then loses the game with turnovers. So they almost HAVE to bring in a new QB next year, who?

2) How long can he use the same philosophy of be tougher and outhit? He certainly made that defense better but can he adapt the offense? Is he going to run into a Buddy Ryan situation where the defense is pissed at the offense and it divides the team?

I think it's really interesting to see how it goes, I do see a lot of positive things he's done, I'm just not sure if he can take the next step.

I prefer a sore loser over a sore winner any day. Why are you guys harassing this guy? He's very likely the best non-Cards-fan on this board. Many of you are really making yourselves look like @$$holes.

Dre Bly out yesterday saying this season was weird because the Cards aren't the best team in the division, we are, we dominated them twice. This division is ours for the next few seasons.

That's a paraphrase the exact quote is in the Mercury News.

I get his point they beat us twice, but we played essentially the same schedule and we're 3 games ahead of them, kind of hard to complain other than look in the mirror and ask why you lost some of the games you lost.

Also found a few guys saying well we beat ourselves today you can't do that (turn it over) against a good team like Philly. They had what 4 turnovers, we had 7 the week before you think anybody on that team believes the Cards "beat themselves" ?

SF is getting better but my main question is the way Singletary coaches it's very hard for me to believe that team is going to be behind Alex Smith as the QB next year. He's so honest to a fault that he can't fool his team, if he doesn't believe in something they will see through it and I seriously doubt he believes in Alex Smith after yesterday.

Bly is forgetting that NFL means Not For Long. The Cards had beaten the 49ers 6 of the last 8 meetings and 4 in a row going into this season. Didn't mean squat when we played them this year did it?
