Come on Joe. I know you are the biggest referee evaluator on the board, but if the refs were kind to us in the 1st half, they were kind to the Pistons too.

I hope Jerry is at least trying to find out why Jake and Googs aren't playing. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

With the amount of time that Googs sits on the bench i don't think he'll be hitting many of his shots. He'll probably be ice cold out there and start hangin around the rim. If Lil Jake and Outlaw don't get in foul trouble i don't see any reason to put him in. I would put him in before Williams though.

I don't really see the Suns as "falling apart." They've lost their halftime lead, but it has happened gradually. Detroit is playing very good defense and is using their strength advantage consistently. The Suns have been outplayed in the first 18 minutes of the second half, but it's not like they're giving the game away.

Marbury is freaking clutch. The Kidd trade actually looks like its in OUR favor these days.

I guess Voskuhl wanted to make it interesting.

To expect Jake to hit two straight clutch free throws is probably a little much though...

The Suns won this game at the free-throw line. Only one miss each from Stoudemire and Voskuhl in 21 total attempts. Great to see them make their free throws for a change.

Marbury took a knee to his leg just above his knee so he wore those tights to help keep the muscles warm and loose.

Is anyone else sick of watching back to back commercials with Kobe and Shaq during almost every commercial break during Suns games?

thanks jbeecham,

he's looking like a ninja "slashing" through the defense:)

how's that for cheesy?:D

i think marbury played clutch, but i didn't see him get it to amare after amare screened for him almost every play. the screen and roll was screen and score. as long as they fall i guess. i think it's pretty obvious amare is itching for the ball too.

great game. time to geep it going against indiana

I can see him becoming a good shooter, but he also seems to me that he can become a player like Rip Hamilton--a guy that can shoot, but he has the body to be a Marion-type slasher as well. Houston actually is an average defender at best, and JJ can actually become quite a good defender given some time.
Johnson reminds me of a better skilled and less assertive and agressive version of Shane Battier.

As the teams came out for the game's final play, Marbury teased the Pistons Chauncey Billups.

Marbury said the two had played against each other since he was 13; he thinks their first meeting was at a BCI tournament in the Valley.

So Marbury said, "I know you're going to try a 3-pointer."
Billups indeed got the ball outside the 3-point line, but knowing the Suns had a foul to give, "He jumped into me to try to get three (free throws)," Marbury said.

Instead, Billups took a terrible, off-balance shot that wasn't close. And the Suns had their big win.

Sorry! But let's be realistic. The Suns shot 61% in the first half. No team anywhere in the world can do that on a regular basis. Yes, the Suns played well and got good shots, which they made, but 61% is still outrageous. You know that Detroit is thinking, "They can't keep shooting like this." And they're right.

Oh totally. Im just saying that when you sit there and watch a half like that unfold, it's hard to fathom the team playing any other way, you get so wrapped up in that particular performance. I split after halftime. Judgin by the final score on my pager last night, It unfolded exactly as you said.

Im just glad we got the win.
