and you really think he doesn’t? Not saying by any means kyler doesn’t have enough faults on his own, but the lack of weapons and interior line certainly are large compounding factors.
don't matter what we think only monti

and he bought defensive ocean front property in arizona

(and shopped a guard)

if he wanted to upgrade at wr he wouldn't have re-signed zae jones - i think monti has learned kyler is rarely going to go thru several progressions on any one play - plus i think petzing also wants kyler to get the ball out before the pressure arrives but i don't think kyler will ever be a pocket quarterback - the less he runs the less we win

if we're gonna make excuses for the lad let's stay valid

Well how can he stay in the pocket with the weakest rotating interior line in the league? Literally every team knows that’s not only our lines weakness, but Kyler’s weakness if that IOL is broken down? (This is where Kyler needs to take off running through the interior lanes more often btw)

We seldomly do roll-outs due to our OC playcalling coupled with likely again every teams strategy to try to keep kyler in the pocket. So if you’re forced to stay in the pocket and have a weak interior line - what’s the recipe for success here? 1 read quick slants and crossing patterns with our WR1 who hasn’t shown the ability to aggressively go get the ball when thrown to him? Our speed demon WRs creating separation in those first few seconds on those 1 read plays? Can only throw to Trey so much before the D would load up on him.

Would love to know your solution based on the tools we have today for success?

You lost me if you think we haven’t had the weakest IOL in the league on passing downs. This is even a weakness of our center - let alone if you want to call what we have had “guards”

lol nobody bangs on fro more than me - and our interior did suck in pass protection - but weakest in the league is some bull ish

No it’s not, it’s 100% up for debate on passing downs.. now back to another poster that wants to avoid answering the question and just look cool bashing Kyler..

Both things can be true.

The defensive rush was all kinds of terrible the last two years also.

Sad that Keim left this franchise with so little talent on both sides of the ball.

Fun site that shows all QB first 3 seasons stats. Kyler is 7th all time in passing yards. Herbert, Burrows and Lawrence knocked him down from 4th after his 3rd season. He's been capable! Hopefully he can be again.

Everyone was happy with Murray's performance and growth over his first 2.5 seasons... It's his last 3.5 (with almost a full season lost to injury) that's troubling.

If only passing yards in a QBs 1st 3 seasons actually meant anything at all, he'd be golden!

That was my point, he was capable at one point. Hopefully he can be again.

He was top 15 in most stats, including yards. He is a top 15 all-time QB in their first 3 years. So, yeah, he was golden. The question is, what has happened since and can he get back?

Coach and GM were fired in that time and the team was declining.

What were people expecting during a rebuild after Keim set the organization on fire?
