I'm glad we can root for a win now. Not sure where it will come from, maybe the Kings game, but I think if they bring Booker back there is a good chance they'll have a good shot at ending their losing streak.

Umm....not ready to root for wins yet. I'll feel more safe if we drop a W to the King's. Then it might be clear sailing.

The Magic number for the most ping pong balls hasn’t reached 0 so im not rooting for a win until it does.

Even after 1 win we'd still have sole possession of the worst record in the league. Luckily we play Golden State and New Orleans in 2 of our 4 remaining games, which should both be losses, so a win against either Sacramento or Dallas wouldn't ruin our draft standings. 1 more loss for the Suns or 1 more Atlanta win would mean that the Suns could not pass them in the standings. So we're really close to locking in a top 5 pick.

When they come out playing well I don't like having to hope for a bad 4th quarter so they end up walking away with a loss. As a fan it's hard to pull for the other team to hit last second shots and beat the Suns like in the Rockets game. I'm not rooting for wins right now but if they happen I don't want to be upset because it ruins their draft standings. Right now it looks like we can handle 1 win.

Apparently we get the Bucks 2nd round pick this year if it falls past #47. That would mean we don't get their 1st round pick this season though. I didn't realize that they would be giving us a pick either way their season finishes. We don't really need more 2nd round picks but that's a small consolation if their pick doesn't convey this year. They'd still owe it to us in the future so we wouldn't miss out completely.

That’s great for you. I don’t want to lock up a top 5 Pick. I want to lock up the highest pick possible and any win puts the fourth pick in jeopardy.

As another fan who doesn’t give a crap about any of these games, I’d just as rather not see a W until that W is completely meaningless.

Memphis may not win another game. Thus we would catch them with two wins. If we were to win 1 of the next 3 games that would mean we would go into the last game of the season needing to lose against Dallas. That is not something I want to have to do. My hope is that we lose the next 3 in competitive games and then destroy Dallas in the last game of the season when it no longer has any bearing on the draft.

If they didn't set a franchise record for consecutive losses I'd feel better about losing but they've lost 15 in a row right now. I'd like to see that streak end so they can start a new one.

The suns are in such a good situation. It's down to the wire in a two way race and we have a serious edge on Memphis. If they beat the king's it's done... If we lose to the king's it's done. If we both just keep losing then done and done. This is the dream scenario.

Ayton, Doncic, or Bagley would be sweet!!!! Maybe we can trade up with the other picks (plus a suns player)

With packaging picks and players, could we pull of another year with two top picks? What would be reasonable in the best case scenario?

Do you really keep tabs on which people typically spell which word incorrectly?

I'll bet he just mistyped or mispronounced 'loose'...

There were 3 words in that post that are frequently misspelled. Eric was teasing DevonCardsFan because he got 1 of them correct (the other 2 words were in the phrase "to short sited").

I don't see us getting any higher than 8th or 9th in a trade. Best case would be if Young somehow falls to the 8-10 range and we trade up and take him. That would be assuming we took a big with our first pick.

Not that there are many games left in the season but NBA.com says the Suns have the hardest schedule remaining, which is surprising since we have games against Sacramento and Dallas. It's from an article posted today also so it doesn't include yesterday's matchup with the Warriors. Here is who they have for toughest and easiest remaining schedules...

  • Toughest schedules so far: 1. Phoenix, 2. Dallas, 3. Chicago
  • Easiest schedules so far: 1. Cleveland, 2. Toronto, 3. Houston

That is based on strength of schedule. Here's a link to that article.
http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/2017-18-week-25

We got a 2 game lead on Memphis, 3 games on Atlanta and Orlando with only 4 games remaining. A win for the Hawks or Magic should put them out of reach. Orlando has the easiest schedule of all of the teams vying for the worst record. Here is who they'll play, in the order they'll meet them. I put the potential playoff teams in bold.

Orlando plays New York, Dallas, Charlotte, Toronto, and Milwaukee.
Atlanta plays Miami twice, Washington, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Memphis plays New Orleans, Sacramento, Detroit, Minnesota, and Oklahoma City.

I can't imagine the Suns going 3-1 in the final 4 games. That means Memphis is pretty much the only team that needs to be monitored on the top pick front.

Of course, the Bucks-Heat-Wizards thing could go several directions.
