He obviously wanted to give Randy a chance for a win, but apparently he isn't watching the same offense the fans are.

Karstens picked the right team to go for a perfect game - just came up 4 outs short thanks to CY. So, I guess the 1-hit shutout sounds better than the perfect-game shutout from the DBacks perspective. One nice offensive game out of three with the terrible Bucs. 1 nice offensive game out of the last 7. Webb and Haren are truly the only thing going for this team.

Tony Clark should be banned from hitting with a runner on first. He is an automatic double-play!

We took two of three and won the series. We are still in 1st place in the west.

They're trying to kill the ball with each swing. Lots of fly outs.!
Still. And mostly to Center Field. It's so frustrating.

And, of course, Melvin's on-again-off-again batting orders. Hudson was moved to #2, then last night #3, then tonight back to #2.

Young was moved down in the order, had one good game, then back up to #2 for one game, then back down. i know a lefty started yesterday. But let the kid acclimate.

Harmless fly balls. Constant lineup changes. Ugh!

I'm getting tired of saying it. But I'll say it as long as Melvin keeps doing it. Playing better than mediocre at home or in spurts does not condone it. (If one considers being shut out on two hits better than mediocre.)

How I wish our team could be led by a Manager capable of seeing beyond the end of his nose.

Not every team can win a Championship or make the playoffs. But if the potential is there, there is no excuse for team-underachievement.

We ran into a buzz saw today. Once in a while, a no name pitcher will have their moment and just hit their spots all day long. This was the case. no use in banging on ourselves. Move on and take care of the Braves

We need 3 of 4 against the Braves.... We've got both Haren and Webby pitching in this series, so that's a real possibility.

Like I always say.... win half on the road and 2/3 at home at you'll be in the playoffs...

Set your sights higher than that, Uncle Chris, and you'll advance in the playoffs. Of course, with a playoff rotation of Webb/Haren/RJ/Scherzer, we could beat the hell out of any formulas.

BTW, so far this season, the D'backs are .458 on the road (5 wins less than your formula of half) and .582 at home (4 wins less than 2/3) -- a total of 9 wins under your rate to make it into the playoffs. Interesting.
